Interferrence can involve very little contact Freddy. For example, you cannot interfere with a player (when he is moving for example) who does not have the puck on his stick or who is battling for possession of the puck. That's interference and is why Chara was called for interference.

There is a HUGE difference with the Lindros hit, and this hit. It's not even questionable. Lindros had the puck, Patches was no where near it.

I'm usually dead on when it comes to hockey related matters/discussions. I'm not a biased hockey fan. I call it the way it is and according to the rules laid out by the league.

I recall Ray Borque hitting Brad Marsh in the same exact fashion, same hit->head into partition, and no penalty was even called.

Is the result here unfortunate? Certainly. It's a shame the kid got hurt so badly.

I expected a short suspension, because the league is now pussified, but am not too shocked at all that there wasn't one.

No, I didn't. I think calling the police for such an act is going too far. I don't think the police has anything to do with this.

Rob is one of these Habs fans that when losing an argument his best way to weasle out of the argument is throw the 24 cups deal into the argument. It's dumb. 24 Cups.....yeah the majority won when there were only 6 teams and the Habs had the French Canadian rule.

Like most of the time the frenchies whine about something, it is a PR stunt. Every hit that involves and injury (whether there was intent to injure or not) will result in charges being laid. GET REAL!!! The Quebec justice/legal system will be brought to it's knees due to the massive amoutn of charges from hockey (Major Jr., minor, Pro) and football (minor, University, CFL).

The frenchies are trouble makers. No wonder why the a lot of Canadians has ill fellings towards the frenchies in Quebec.
