They happen probably once every 2-3 weeks in the NHL alone.

It was not a suspendable hit so you people need to relax.

Are you retarded? Pacioretty was skating TOWARDS the puck, which was dumped into Boston's zone. He doesn't have the puck on his stick. Chara clearly interferes with him, HENCE the interference penalty. Wow. Some people are just plain stupid around here.

Not everyone breaks vertebrae when they hit the partition... doesn't mean people aren't hit into it on a regular basis. Most people get their arms up to shield some of the blow, but Pac was in a more vulnerable position. I would say every 2-3 weeks is fairly accurate, maybe even more frequent... its definitely not uncommon for someone to crash into it

Fact is a play, had it occurred anywhere else on the ice, would have most likely been called 2 minutes for interference, happened to find the one spot along the boards where a player can almost literally lose their head.

I think the long history (and some of the recent stuff) allows people to fill in their own blanks as to Chara's real intentions.
