Let's start a thread discussing how sad the lack of reading comprehension in adults is. I find it Infuriating and depressing all at the same time.

Okay, I'm done. I like Willie...I don't want to piss him off.

Yeah, really. We need one. Reminds me of an old routine George Carlin used to do back at the height of the Vietnam War in the late 60s. He said we should have one big damn party and make the whole world attend. The next week people could just say, "I can't shoot at that guy, I met him at a party last week."

Take more than passionate debate to piss me off.

Can I get anyone a cocktail? How about a nosh? Lively debates always go better with a drink and some hors d'oeuvres as my granny used to say.

You know, Shams...I thought just not responding to you would give you the hint that I have nothing more to say to you on this matter since you can't seem to carry on a mature debate, but apparently I was a wee bit too subtle. So here are a few points that hopefully you can grasp. Remeber now....I'm going to need you to put on your big boy panties and actually READ.

              1. Mature, intelligent people read an entire pargraph/post/article and try to COMPREHEND the point of view being expressed, even if they don't agree. Children and slow people seek out a few key words and twist them to suit their needs. I do not debate with children or slow people...as it's an unfair battle and I'm a kind person. But know this, I have "dumbed down" most of what I wrote in this thread for you...and you still don't get it. Hell, you don't even realize when you are spewing insults in some sort of twisted effort to make a point that I actually agree with you on.

              2. No one, and I do mean NO ONE on an internet forum will ever make me feel stupid or cause me to doubt my beliefs. I am confident in my intelligence, not to mention my good heart, my work ethic, my ability to take care of my pets in a responsible manner and the fact that I will make one hell of a mother when that time comes. I am a confident, intelligent, strong-willed woman and you can't stand that. My only regret is that I even entertained your rantings for as long as I did.

              3. You can sit there and think: "I won!" because I refuse to entertain you further is you wish. I sure wish my life was so simple that throwing a temper tantrum on the internet would bring me such joy. Wait, no I don't.

              4. I find it REALLY funny that when people call you out you assume they are defending me because I'm a girl. Seriously, I choked on my coffee over that one. Could it be, MAYBE, thet they agree with me...and that your opinion is in the minority? Of course not, for Shamswoof knows everything....except that I've known Nina and Sporty for over three years now and I'm sure they are very aware that I am capable of fighting my own battles. We're adults. Adults don't jump all over someone for "dissin' their girl"....teenagers do.

Lively debates usually involve both parties listening to and trying to comprhend the opposing argument so they are able to pose a RELEVENT counter-argument.

A dunbed down post came from a dumbed down person... You double talk so much in your post and you don't even realize it... I have pointed out in your posts many times how you double talk and you get to such a point that you are just trying to not look stupid in a web where you have no idea what you are talking about... HEEEH..??? First ..I don't read right and if I did I would realize that you are not disagreeing but now they are defending you because my opinion is in the minority..??? This is the kind of sh*t I have been b*tching about... She double talks like no other... She knows she's in something she knows little about and is just trying to get out by saving face... All of her points have NO BASES they are just out of thin air... You "MAY" have some intelligence but CLEARLY not on this topic and I think SportsGril has been trying to tell me that in a nice way....

I still think you are an idiot!!! SportsGril and Nina on the other hand I would consider intelligent...

If I had to rank you three I would say:

We would get along A LOT better if you just were honest and said that you didn't know instead of claiming you do and that I don't...

It's your "senses" Swede... All information recieved in your life comes from your imput devices... All information given to a computer is through it's imput devices...

A keyboard (input) to a computer is like eyes to a human... A Monitor (output) to a computer is like thought to a human... Not the best examples but they'll do... When we sleep our brain even takes the imput from that day (RAM Memory/Shorter Term Memory) and re-files it or moves it to the HD or Longer Term Memory... Tramatic or Dramatic experiences cause the brain to file it with special access and priority...

If a child see's his mom beat by the dad the child will remember that clearly because the child's brain will use something called an "amesia wall" (which I can't spell much less FULLY understand) to store the experience... This is also why old people as their brain deteriorates remember things more clearly when they were young then what they did yesterday...

We are A LOT more like computers then you think Swede... The Camera come about by studying the eye why not a computer by studying the brain..? Like a Camera the computer is a very poor machanical simulation of how we work... You're like a "Commador" though DAMN!

I want to make something clear which goes with the BASE of my argument with welfare people... OUTPUT IS NOT an action it's a thoought because the action is dictated FIRST by the thought... If you change the input you will then change the output causing a VOLUNTARY change in action not one of resistance...

Since I am "smarty pants" I have an additional sense... located nicely ..where else in my pants...

                      SO WOOOOF Swede!!!

Only a complete dolt would buy this overly simplistic explaination of the human brain. I'm not suprised you do.

Sometimes...and sometimes people block out things like that...and sometimes dogs and cats live together. What does that have to do with anything? Furthermore, as the child gets older, it developes the ability to reason and understand that domestic abuse is not okay.

Isn't that what I've been saying? The computer may be based on the human brain, but it can't even come close to functioning like one. Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've been saying that...not that you actually pay attention to my posts. Thanks for proving my point.

I think maybe your wee brain is too darn over-worked to understand that I am not disagreeing that we need to change the environment of those creating multi-generational wefare families to break the cycle. However, the government can't just do it for them. At some point, people need to be held accountable for their actions. Many abusers raise abusive children...does that mean the second generation abuser shouldn'e be punished for it? Of course not. You propose paying celebrities to endorse this change...as if people will make an effort to change their entire life based on the teachings of 50-Cent. I propose providing these people with less cash and more TOOLS they need to chang their lives and the lives of their children (ie. better day care, education, job training, business attire, help writing resumes, etc.) And yes, I'd like to see drug testing for two reasons 1. drugs are a luxury item. If you can't afford to feed your kids on your own, you can't afford that bag of weed...or that 6-pack of beer. 2. Drugs clog up those inputs you went on and on about making it harder for people to SEE the change around them.

In any case, you obviously aren't mature or intelligent enough to actually read the opposing side of a debate in order to stick to the core issues...so I'm officially done with you. Have fun being a Sham-bot.

                          MORE GARBAGE and NOOOOOOOO SUBSTANCE...

Let's get something straight here... Go back and read the earlier posts to verify this...

My stance is to change the people's decision making so whatever you give them their decisions on what to do with it will be differant or should be changed...

Her stance is to make "force" the decision on them and I'm not sure if she even realizes that a lot of these kids don't have one parent much less two...

How about this for double talk... She won't allow the parent (if there is one still around) to stay home raise the child and collect tax payers money... She claims they should not just sit around doing nothing they should get out and work... If you present the argument differant and say raising a child IS NOT WORK then they go the f*ck off.... "Oh it's so hard and you just don't understand " and yada yada... Gee well how about paying them based on how well the child does if you consider raising a child "such hard work".... Is it or isn't it..? Get your sh*t straight first!!

"Oh it's so hard and you just don't understand " and yada yada... Gee well how about paying them based on how well the child does if you consider raising a child "such hard work".... Is it or isn't it..? Get your sh*t straight first!!

Okay, well most of that post is useless, but I'll respond to this:

                            Oh boy...more word twisting...

No, I do not feel someone should sit on their ass and collect taxpayer's money...especially when the people my argument is based on are not "raising" their children. I illustrated that using the example of the barefoot 3-year-old that ran out in front of my car with NO adult in sight to even notice that the kid was almost road kill. That is NOT raising a child. That is spawning. The people I feel the system should crack down on are the ones mentioned in Seer's post that teach their kids nothing but how to cheat the system. The little girl doesn't even know how to look both ways before she crosses the street, but you can be damn sure momma will show her how to check the mail and cash a check. Again, this is NOT raising a child. It is breeding for the purpose of getting more money out of the state.

Actually raising and supporting a child IS hard work. Part of that hard work is getting off your ass and earing money to buy food, clothing and shelter for that child...then coming home, cooking them dinner, giving them baths, helping with homwork, etc. Furthermore, teaching your child values that will better them in life is hard to do. It's far easier to sit on your ass and let your kid go out and do whatever they want than to actually WATCH your kids and prevent them from running in the street.

Why should certain people get to sit at home and collect when there are parents out there working their asses off to make sure their kids have the things they need?

As far as me wanting to force the decision...I don't want to force anyone into anything, but I think there should be rules when accepting assistance from the government. No one is forcing them to sit on their lazy asses an collect....and the people that truly need the assistance and want to get back on their feet would probably welcome many of the things I proposed. If I couldn't support my kids, I would welcome assistance in writting my resume, job training, suitable interview attire, reliable daycare, life skills classes (budgeting, inexpensive cooking, etc.) and free birth control.

First of all DON'T ASSume there are two parents in the house and if one is going to work who the hell is going to care for the child while they are gone to make sure they don't run out in the street..? I guess they can just get a roomate and push it off on them...

YOU HAVE TO KNOW THE VALUES YOURSELF TO TEACH THEM YOU IDIOT!!!!

Your biggest problem regarding this issue is that you constantly compare yourself to the welfare people... Why should "they" when "I"... My point is people with attitudes like this should never have a job in the health and human services sector... Get that "chip" off of your shoulder...

                                                          THERE ARE RULES DUUUUH!!!

All the stuff you mention IS AVAILABLE why do you make it sound like it isn't..? The people making the decision to embrace it is another thing... You want to give them clothes instead of giving them money to buy them because you don't think they will make the right decision... They can STILL make the decision to sell/trade shoes and clothes for crack... Your theory is not even a band aid...

Swedey...you just made my brain hurt.
