#42Cougar I swear in my father's honor I'm not lying now: I'm refraining from watching this video for 2 hours now only because I haven't eaten anything yet and if I watch it I know my food will look like dogshit. Will watch it after I get my Sunday steak"I have never seen a wild thing feel sorry for itself. A little bird will fall dead, frozen from a bough, without ever having felt sorry for itself."

#50Cougar the only ingrediant I HAVE never heard in a lasagna style dish is sour cream. RICOTTA WOULD TAKE THE PLACE OF THE SOUR CREAM , OR EVEN SCAMORTZ NOT SURE OF SPELLING ,IM SPELLING LIKE IT SOUNDS, THIS CHEESE WHEN IT MELTS GETS STRINGY, Alot of people love it but it is messy. but great job cougar looks excellentComment -

#51Thanks Dom. Using the sour cream is just an option. I know a couple other people who I gave this recipe to that use ricotta instead. It's a common replacement. Try it out sometime.Comment -

#52I would probably take the sour cream out of it myself, not a fan of it. How about Italian Sausage instead of beef?Comment -

#53Cougar, have you ever been to New Orleans? With the taste for food/cooking you have, which seems similar to me, you would LOVE the French Quarter. Best food i've had anywhere in america. My favorite is style is blackened fish and chicken, they also have the BEST fresh seafood.
Trust me on the quarter cougar, time of your life.Comment -

#57I made the Italian Casserole today for my girl and another couple, served it family style with a big salad and some garlic bread, it was really good. I actually I'm eating a bowl of some of the leftovers now and think it might even be better now that it sat in the fridge a couple hours. If you do not like cheese though, this dish is not for you, but if you do, you're gonna really enjoy it. I had it with a big glass of milk, some salad, and garlic bread and it was a solid meal. Topped it off with a big rip of Cope. Thanks again for the recipe Cougar, keep em coming.Comment -

#61Brock,
Never been there but have always loved N'awlins catfish. I also make a jumbalaya that's decent. I'll check out those BBQ recipes for sure.
Onlooker,
You can substitute ricotta for the sour cream if you like. Never tried sausage instead of the ground round but I am sure it would work.
JohnAnthony,
My current GF enjoys the fact that I cook sometimes, but as for getting married...eh...
Houli, Taylor, Mav, Great,
Glad you got some enjoyment out of it
And Ice,
Yeah if you're not a fan of cheese this is not the dish for you. Glad you liked it. It does tend to solidify overnight and re-heats very well.

#62Coug's a little tip to try next time or with other uses. You seasoned your beef while browning which is good but try mixing in some of your spices with your sour cream as well. It really livens up the flavors.
