Dave and busters makes me nervous. Not sure how people will think about their kids being in a potential Corona Virus Epi Center. A place you are encourage to Eat, put hands around face and food. Then play on game machines that a bunch of other kids and adults are touching while sneezing and coughing. Tough place

#4203Was looking at Dave and Busters as well.
A new one is being built out here in the mall, taking the old Sears section.
Even though the markets seem to be propped up a bit I think the concept of long term is a little twisted right now.
We still aren't anywhere near election night levels and I think we could head that way, maybe 19k on the dow.
It's a tough call as some things to look like good deals but I just don't like what I see.
'Hold up, wait a minute, something 'aint right."

think about that for a minute, 3 children total... over 1,000 kids are gonna die from drowning this year, and 3 are gonna die from coronavirus... yet people feel safer taking their kids to a pool or the beach than a dave and busters? totally illogicalComment -

i'm gonna be in there the 1st day it opens, i think i have enough points for about 2000 servings of nachos
but if our snowflake society is gonna totally melt and hide under the bed over something that is gonna kill about the same amount of people as the flu or car accidents, then what are we gonna do when we have BIG problems?Comment -

#4208lol.
Dave and Busters is for adults and kids can go if accompanied by adults.
I've never been to one, are the generally kids there? They do have birthday party packages and some family type offerings.
In general, on a busy night, is it adult or child dominated?
Maybe weeknights look different than the weekends, I don't really know.
Just seems like they were geared for adults.Comment -

kvb, i would say it all depends on what kind of parties are going on, but for the most part it's more adults than kids especially in the bar/restaurant areaComment -

#4212but the bigger picture is where else are you gonna put money? at some point we're gonna have huge inflation and/or a financial reset, so you would be better off in hard assets/stocks than in cash/fixed income
totally agree that the debt is unpayable, if you add in unfunded ss/medicare, then we're at 100 trillion (1 million for every household lol)
if govt pays the 2.9 trillion they borrowed from s.s. and medicare IT WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM!Comment -

#4214Missed the big move on APA. Was afraid of oil then $4.30 turned into $13 in a month.
Seems like everything looks the same with a drop and recovery about midway, S&P, DOW, tons of individual equities.
Then there's GLD, or Gold, which has more than recovered.
Then there's AMZN and Netflix.
Unreal.Comment -

#4216Looks like EA and ATVI (Electronic Arts and Activision) have made their run and even though they have benefited through the lockdown they look like mutliple tops.
Even if there are good earnings, and the fact is they have had a huge rise in business, analysts seem cautious.
They aren't sold on how many customers will remain as we enter a recession.
Hardware sales have been there as well so I think they will retatin some business.
I would look to buy these guys if they do drop in price again. Just not sure of my overall strategy with them.

companies are another thing entirely, however. a big part of the reason for this price bottom formation
is the shutting off of wells. Exploration and production companies, pass... because they won't be realiable

#4220Congrats! What is your total portfolio you are trading? Most of what I hold are preservation of capital and higher priced stocks, so the DIV relative to the price is small. My point was for the folks just beginning with small $$ portfolio's hoping to help them understand that dividends are great but not to depend on if your portfolio is smaller. BOL.Comment -

#4221Are we overbought? Seems like the highs are close to in?? I'm reading the virus is already mutating into possibly stronger version. Having a hard time seeing how the next 9 months are rosy given the virus, questions regarding reopening, and election.
Personally, thinking of taking some $$ off the table. Thoughts??Comment -
