anyone aware of any existing correlations between the stock market & crypto markets?

or in other words, is a healthy stock market/unstable stock market good or bad for cryptocurrency?

I don’t watch the crypto market.

So I can’t say for sure, but my guess would be that they are generally positively correlated because they are both risk assets. Crypto, to my knowledge is not really a store of value at this point.

Would be interested to hear someone who knows both crypto and traditional financial markets chime in on this.

Cryptos are trying to be considered a safe haven from equities, and have been for some time; a guy on CNBC was even trying to make the case earlier.

Amazing given the mining farms of China and its ability to manipulate.

Yeah i just looked and btc looks like it was rallying the first part of August, unlike stocks, but it looks like it was down yesterday when the volatility really picked up.

Interesting. I will try and make it a point to take a look from time to time.

did you guys know that pre-election years on US is good the last week or august.

but then when you get to the mid sept- oct of the pre-election years, its horrible, just horrible.

So we are going to see a melt-down soon on the stock markets..... im not sure when, but soon.

Plus the yield curve inverted, which again, is never a good sign. I think not in 2019 but some sort of recession is
on the way.

I like seasonality charts casue they work, So we are heading into SEPT, and OCT, which would mean, look for some downside on on stocks...very very soon.

Gold, silver crypto is good especially seen as though safer havens, or they are seen as safer haven in economic uncertainty yes, even btc from time to time too. Remember north korea nukes, and tension, BTC rose nicely.

Id say people selling out of the stock market ...might come across to gold, silver, and crypto soon, if that happens...it might be a nice punt for me, as I am heavy long.

Also, I doubt the ALT COIN BULL Market starts until we see a nice rally up on XRP ripple.

They did a dummy print there other day for 1 second where XRP went to $9 USD.

Its currency price as you read this 0.26 cents, But once we go to about 0.90cents, that will mark the start of another ALT coin bull run.

Is there a Crypto-currency that incorporates the backing of a gold standard? I have heard talk of this. I should know this answer, but can't recall.

Sounds like such a cool idea. Would think highly of such a crypto.

Chucky, I have heard rumors of this, but i think right now crypto is NOT underwraps...meaning these creators are not doing what TRUMP wants. and they are not behaving! For crypto to really explode, they would have to adhere to what trump wants. So far they are not doing that....so is the wild wild west.

Not long before regulation comes in, {I think} especially with BAKKT coming on board.
Crypto-currency that incorporates the backing of a gold standard? Well.... I have heard rumors, yes, but to pinpoint you to an actual ALT coin that does that, well, I cannot do that comfortably.

I could see a time where they will incorporate and blockchain the entire stockmarket I think as in tokenize it, and the offerings.

That would mean those old fat guys in the NYSE CBOE pits, on teh trading floor are a dying breed, very fast. One day we prob wont even see them in there.

made 500 first week of trading. going backwards ever since.. trump and reagan are only 2 repubs pres stock market did alright with. Always better with dem.

Trump tweeting about trade talks is pure market manipulation. It's so obvious. That's not an indictment on him it's just a fact. We are no closer to a China deal than we were before. A deal is a long way from happening.

poppa had the best 630 days of any president in the stock market. We were using qe and money was cheap under poppa just like trump. I still believe clinton captured all of the goodness of poppa bush. We are fukking the kurds just like clinton did.
