Boss asked why. Told him I would make more money betting than at work. He's coming over for the afternoon.
Should be interesting.

Pure - I have a recruiting company and I can tell you honestly that this is not the time to get fired from a job. Unless you can make it without one for many months. The job market is the worst in 75 years. It is very tough to find another one right now.
But if your able to make more betting consistently than fuk it. You should have left that dead end a long time ago

My boss sits in the cube next to me. My team lead (boss assistant) and boss both know I gamble. They don't care. I've even bet wagers for them and paid them cash if they covered.
We did a march madness thing...most place a couple bucks a sheet. To discourage the whole multiple sheets...yeah ours is 20.00 a sheet. We have over 500.00 in the pot this year.
We are hiring in my area, we are very badly understaffed. I will not be fired anytime soon. They are actually encouraging me to work "remotely" on Friday.

I'm not scared to lose my job. I know 5 blocks of business out of 5 blocks. Only 2 other people can say that. None of them are management. I've gotten great reviews, great bonuses, and great stock options for my efforts. (stock go up please). I'm just waiting to get the nod to management so I can be in meetings all day and not have to take phones calls again. If they put me back on the floor in 2 months when this is done I'm quitting.
I like to look ahead and work on improvements to help our current situation.

I've seen chit change in an instant. One minute your on top of the world at work. The next minute your wondering "what the fuk just happened". I didn't think my business would be effected with the downturn and things were going incredibly well then overnight the market shifted. Since December it's been tough sledding, where only the strong will survive.

I explain to management why there neat idea's for converting old software to new more efficient programs are not really all that new efficient and they are creating new work and new problems.
Its pretty bad
5 areas is
2 UL life policies areas
2 Term life policie areas
1 VUL life area
Essentially though. I'm a customer service guy that got trained on one block of business screwed up got recruited to go to another, got trained on all 5 area's. On the 2nd block turned my act around and have been explaining the new system which is the (1st blocks) old system to all my current co-workers. Then I got noticed doing that, got dragged into a meeting and in about 5 questions explained why all there current ideas were going to be less effective and why. ( I was right and since then I was moved to conversion team) Its over in 2 months though, which means I go back to the phones for customer service in the life insurance area.
It will suck and I will find something better. Love my company, hate my current job description!!!
I hate sales, I will do in-house sales, I will not cold call etc like that. I don't mind traveling. I'm very procedural oriented, which is why I've been such a good fit on the conversion team due to my understanding of the multiple areas.
