Tristan Jarry made 28 saves, and the Pittsburgh Penguins extended their home point streak to nine games with a 3-0 win against the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday.

Jarry had his first shutout of the season. It was his first ever shutout performance on home ice.
His stats in home games this year are very impressive:

It should be noted Jarry is 1-3-0 in road games this year, with losses at Tampa Bay, Boston, and Columbus.

Penguins (15-9-4 overall), are 7-0-2 at home since a 3-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 19.
It is their longest home point streak since winning 11 straight from Jan. 7-Feb. 17, 2018.

Also ended Blues 10 game point streak on the road, 2nd longest in franchise history.

Calgary Flames will have new stadium

Calgary Flames have a deal for a new downtown arena, a 35-year agreement that keeps the NHL club in the city for that time.


The team, the city and the Calgary Stampede rodeo signed an agreement Thursday to replace the 36-year-old Scotiabank Saddledome.


The new 19,000-seat arena is to cost more than $417 million and be located just north of the Saddledome. Construction is expected to begin in 2021, and the old arena will be demolished between 2024 and 2025.


The project is part of a downtown revitalization. The new building will become the home of the Flames and part of a planned entertainment district bordering the Stampede grounds.


The Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation, which owns the Flames, and the city will split the cost.

Ottawa Senators defenseman Mark Borowiecki played the role of crimefighter on Sunday when he thwarted an attempted robbery in Vancouver.
With the Senators in town ahead of Tuesday’s showdown with the Canucks, Borowiecki was out for a walk in Vancouver when he happened upon an individual attempting to break into a car. Borowiecki confronted the would-be robber, and a brief confrontation broke out during which he wrestled away the purloined items.

Assistant coach Rick Bowness has been named interim head coach of the Stars.

More details may or may not be forthcoming. At the time of announcement, it is unknown if this is due to recent or past behavior.

This news comes out the next morning following Monday's NHL Board of Governors meeting in Pebble Beach, CA in which Commissioner Gary Bettman made a speech including the topic of Code of Conduct as a point of emphasis for the league, in light of the recent firing of Calgary Flames head coach Bill Peters due to previous racial remarks as well as a previous physical altercation between coach and players.


It will be interesting to see the immediate effect on the team, as Dallas has recently been winning games.

They just held a press conference, but did not go into much further detail. Other than saying it "did not have to do with on-ice performance, nor actions between players and the coach (nor other employees)."

On December 16, 2019, the Devils traded Hall and Blake Speers to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Kevin Bahl, Nick Merkley, Nate Schnarr, Arizona's first-round pick in 2020 and third-round selection in 2021.



The conditions on the 2021 pick are as follows: the third-round pick in 2021 becomes a second-round selection if Arizona wins a Stanley Cup Playoff round OR Taylor Hall re-signs in Arizona. The third-round pick in 2021 becomes a first-round selection if Arizona wins a Stanley Cup Playoff round AND Taylor Hall re-signs in Arizona. If neither condition happens, New Jersey still receives the 2021 third-round pick.
