It's gotta be Greinke. I'd be shocked if he doesn't win the Cy Young...Comment -

#1931Pedro also had unforgettable seasons with Montreal in 1997 and the Red Sox in 1999.
The guy was simply filthy and nasty! One of my favorite pitchers ever!

#1932As a Bostonian, I can tell you: the city was electric when Pedro pitched. When you compare the numbers of his great seasons (mid to late 90s I think?) to the next best pitcher those seasons, it's not even close. He dominated his generation like none before or since. That's why he's best ever.
As for this year's NL Cy, yikes. Sucks that there has to be a loser after two ridiculous seasons!
Shorty, do your Buccos have a chance??? How? Lay it out for me. I guess your best chance is Cole. Maybe win it 1-0 in 11!Comment -

#1935Some support for Kershaw...
Clayton Kershaw struck out 301 batters in 232.2 innings --
the highest single-season strikeout rate for any qualified starter ever not named Pedro Martinez or Randy Johnson.Comment -

Of course they do, Cappy! I'll be in attendance doing my best to help it happen...
I also love the fact that 96.3% of SBR posters like the Cubs to win. You all know what that usually means!
Good to see you around, bud!Comment -

#1939The Astros got the job done tonight, always fun watching the Yankees lose a big one. Keuchel was good tonight (and the ump gave him a big strike zone, which always helps).Comment -

#1945I would give the Cy Young edge to Arrieta due to his low ERA, number of wins, averaging over a strikeout per inning, and pitching in the toughest division having to face the Cardinals and Pirates more than anyone else.Comment -

#1946just heard someone on the Radio remind the listeners that Kershaw's ERA last year was about what Arrieta's was this year
and look how he fared in his game pitching against the Cards int he playoffs last year giving up 8 runs
you never know who the big game pitchers are until you see them in big gamesComment -

#1948McHugh at +131 is tempting, Ventura wasn't very good in Sept. but has pitched 2 good ones in a row in his last 2. The over7.5 is interesting too. (just my first impressions)Comment -

#1949I love Ventura in game 1. Think he's figured it out. And I also foresee a starry-eyed Astros versus been-there-done-that, all-business Royals vibe.Comment -

#1950His 4 straight starts in Sept. were pretty bad (7,12.17,23) and he was bad most of the year (bad enough to get sent down briefly) so it is hard for me to trust him. McHugh has also been kind hit or miss late in the season (but he has 8 QS out of his last 11, but Texas beat him up twice) I think the accumulation of innings has him a bit tired (same way I feel about Cole, Cole seemed tired the last couple months, tried his ass off but the innings seemed to take a toll).Comment -

#1951Last two games showed how the top pitcher comes out on top in the playoffs. If you didn't go big on the cubs last night you lost a golden opp bet. I wish I would have put more on itComment -

me too
I had a decent sized wager on it, but bought some back when the lines changed enough I could get a decent scalp and added some pirates+1.5
so I netted 6.2 units instead of 10Comment -

#1954Feel bad for the Pirates and their fans. Had to face Bumgarner last year and now Arrieta in the Wild Card game last night. Very harsh.Comment -
