I must admit. I've never heard of this guy before!

After his two-hit performance in his rehab debut with Class A Rancho Cucamonga, Yasiel Puig (hamstring) told reporters that he'd like to join the Dodgers at some point this weekend.
"I feel good," Puig said, per MLB.com. "I want to be back by Saturday, but it's not my decision. We'll have to talk with the doctors."
Puig has been sidelined since April 24. He slashed .279/.380/.465 with two home runs and four RBI in 43 at-bats. He acknowledged that the decision is out of his hands since he's not fully recovered from his hamstring injury.

"I'm not 100 percent now, but it felt comfortable," Puig said. "I did my job, did my rehab in Arizona and I'll come back here [to Lancaster] tomorrow night."

This guy has a lot of talent, but he plays so hard he hurts himself again and again.

David Price struck out 11 in a five-hitter as the four-time AL Central champion Tigers stopped their worst skid since 2005 and avoided falling below .500 for the first time this year.
''We knew they were going to break out of it,'' Price said. ''We've been hitting balls hard even though we've been struggling.''
Detroit finished with 18 hits after averaging 2.75 runs per game during their slide. Cabrera hit his 12th home run, and all nine starters contributed at least one hit.
Price (5-2) struck out seven straight batters in the middle innings. He walked two in his 13th career complete game and second of the season.
''He was outstanding. He gave us exactly what we needed,'' Ausmus said.
Price worked with extra rest after throwing a season-high 121 pitches in 7 2-3 innings Sunday against the Angels.

Mesoraco not packing it in yet.

Devin Mesoraco (hip) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Monday.

Reds manager Bryan Price said that Mesoraco is feeling great and should need 3-4 rehab games before being activated. He'll play left field for Louisville and that's the position Mesoraco is pegged for when he returns to the big club. The soon-to-be 27-year-old hasn't played anywhere other than catcher as a pro, but the Reds hope using him in left field will allow him to delay hip surgery until the offseason.

The Astros have announced the promotion of prized shortstop prospect Carlos Correa. He will join the team Monday against the host White Sox.
The 20-year-old Correa has not missed a beat ascending through the system. Despite a late-May slump, he boasts a slash line of .332/.404/.602 with 10 home runs and 43 RBI in 211 at-bats at Double-A and Triple-A combined.
The Astros have certainly needed an upgrade at that position since Jed Lowrie went down in late April.
