I never realized to check for discrepancies, coinbase shows a major drop to 40,300 at 7:10pm and Kraken actually shows a drop to 39,999 at 2:10am

Mountain time zone.

I should have looked at a more reputable advanced chart. I have some sh!tcoin in coinbase I’m waiting to unload.

Could have been gaps in the market on those exchanges I guess. I don't think any trades happened at those levels though. or maybe not enough to affect the overall market avg.

I'll leave that answer to Raiders. He will know better than me. But generally I would not be buying in after a huge recent rally.

I think there was "wick" that went down to $40.4k. At least, that is what Kucoin is showing. A wick is kind of a flash in price - up or down - that quickly recovers and is different from the opening and closing prices.

The BTC market has been so sluggish for so long I think some of us forget the days of the last bull market when volatility was crazy and $2K, $3K, or $4k swings in a day were not that uncommon.

I can confirm the $40,400 wick. Yes, it was quick and rebounded quickly.

On these charts, all about the time selections. Yes, the volatility can move very quickly.

Like Optional said it's tough to jump in SOL because of the huge boom although I did FOMO into the ecosystem. Because of the SEC and delistings of Coins that the SEC was calling a security I jumped out of SOL. Robinhood delisted SOL but now Robinhood has an EU branch that lists SOL. Even Binance got scared and delisted some SOL trading pairs.

SOL is centralized and the SOL foundation controls a nice size portion. But this is allowing SOL to do airdrops and SOL has been on a huge tear. They've had NFTs for a while. They airdropped BONK, which is the SOL MEME. They also airdropped JTO. Aped into JTO but that just took a huge hit. JTO is a governance token. Solana is trying to say that they are a DAO and trying to get away from centralization. Even if they are a DAO it doesn't fly when the SOL foundation still owns so much SOL but best of luck with that.

Even with all those negatives, SOL could continue this boom. It flew by Cardano and if you told me that a year ago, I would have said no way this happens. My best guess is that they continue to be a winner with ETH and ADA. The other competitors could be in big trouble.

It's the same with all business sectors, even the .coms. Sooner or later there are a few that take over and the rest go away or become very small.

While cryptocurrency price volatility has accelerated over the week, the ETH/BTC cross is very much range-bound, towards the support level of mid-2022. Alt performance has remained unaligned to ETH outperformance. A new iteration for this cryptocurrency upcycle.

On the OTC desk, relative value has become the dominant theme. With the SOL token leading the cryptocurrency market rally, other 'lesser' performing layer 1s like AVAX have started to outperform (play catchup). BTC buyers have now emerged, although they remain cautious of 'buying the top' and appear to be level targeting. OTC ETH trading remains much more balanced. Alts enquiry has aligned to underlying protocol token performance. That is, SOL token outperformance has seen Alts on the Solana ecosystem receive significant enquiry. It seems logical that this will also be the case as other protocol ecosystems are catching up. Continue to listen out for an update on a US spot BTC ETF.

SNEK up 32% today, 141% for the week. Definitely not the way to do this, jumping in and out of ecosystems since it's really the only chance to lose. They dump hard compared to the L1. Best buying and holding.

Chucky, do that in a bear market. Then you can try to time the market or swing trade. You're good at that. Right now it doesn't matter if you buy bitcoin today, tomorrow or next week. In a year you'll be really happy no matter what you buy. The only thing that can temporarily halt this train are the ETFs.

has been buying #Bitcoin throughout the whole bear market using their PRIVATE trust.This PRIVATE trust was launched in 2022 with @coinbase
as custodian. BlackRock knew they will get their ETF approved and insiders have been accumulating hard ever since.

OK, Raiders. I'm happy with my BTC exposure.

Question: What is your best site to purchase BTC right now?
...I have a small amount of BTC via Pay Pal. But I don't like the way they hold the coins.

Also, why not purchase MSTR/GBTC/BITQ and similar crypto assets? Wouldn't they figure to move in lock-step with BTC?
