I'd assume that is for ACH or card deposits.

Do they mention anything about a wire deposit option in your account? Because they can't stop you sending 5k that way.

Or do they say it will be sent back or something like that if you wire more than the limit?

If you deposit cash to Gemini/Coinbase using a wire transfer instead of ACH then it becomes available and cleared same day or overnight.

Most bitcoin ATMs will charge 7-10% by default but are instant. You can sometimes call the phone number on the side and ask the operator to give you a better rate.

The CashApp from square inc on your phone is fast to buy from too.

I also have a flip phone; me and you must be the only 2 people left with flip phones except some seniors. Cause of flip phone; I can't get verified with coinbase to send or receive money. So I don't think opening blockchain account will matter. The moderator here has tried to help and I follow his steps but I think I need a smart phone for coinbase to send or recieve. I got verified to send or receive to my bank account but not for other websites. I tried; I'm done

It's just personal preference and what your lifestyle demands. No advantage to using a phone.

Although you can't use 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) without a smart phone. Which is basically a unique code delivered to your smartphone that is needed as well as the normal password each time you login fro extra security.

You need an Exchanger to buy/sell your bitcoin. Gemini.com or Coinbase.com

You need a personal wallet you own. Blockchain.com/wallet/ is a website based one you can get started with.

Get verified at your exchanger and fund the account.

Once those funds are "cleared" buy some bitcoin from them and send it you personal wallet. From there deposit it in your sportsbook account.

When withdrawing have the sportsbook send the bitcoin to your personal wallet. The you send it to the exchanger and sell it for $$ which can then be transferred to your bank.
Thanks. I think I understand the exchange process. I hear of people carrying around the bit coin code on their phone. What advantage is this?? I got cut off at PtoP couple of weeks ago. Got to find a better way.

I set up account with Coinbase and got verified to send money to and from coinbase with my bank account, but I can't get verified with coinbase to send money from coinbase to 5Dimes. The moderator tried helping me a few weeks ago, but I'm not able to do it; even after watching video posted here. So after almost 15 years with 5Dimes I'm done. Drove an hour to NY casino to make some futures but wouldn't bother driving an hour to bet each week. Stupid governor of NY blocked using computer or phone to bet. Thanks to the people who tried to help. Congrats to Sammy who's older than me and much smarter

I thought it was a first time hold...nope another transfer showed a wait time of 11 days to transfer..
why would anyone want to use this...got hit for $120 loss by the time could transfer the money to the book...this is a shit method..cant see anyone wanting this...bit coin unstable on a 9 day wait
The wait time appears to be based on how risky they profile you as. It seems to be variable first time but should end up being 5 days if depositing by ACH once established.

You can avoid the wait time by depositing to Coinbase by Wire instead of ACH. That is credited and cleared either same day or overnight.

Also you do not have to purchase Bitcoin and then wait for the ACH to clear if you do not wish to do that.

You can just deposit US$ and wait for it to clear before purchasing Bitcoin.

Or if you did choose to buy bitcoin at same moment as requesting ACH transfer, then you can decide to sell that Bitcoin for US$ and hold it on the exchange until clear and buy bitcoin again.

There is no reason you should be stuck with a loss like this. The choice of how and when to do the actual BTC purchase is 100% in your own control.

nice breakdown (nice pic too )

Most sites are fun, fast and effective. Delays could only be as long as a new block (so ten minutes).

If I ever got lucky enough to win a SBR contest that pays out in Bitcoin, could that prize be shipped directly to a sports book?

Never got into Bitcoin and am trying to hold out as long as possible.

    Technically you can.

But it is against Coinbase's terms of service to use them for transferring gambling funds. When they detect it they have shut down many accounts.

Not sending directly between them and a sportsbook makes it much less likely to happen.

One other reason to use your own wallet that you control at one end of every transaction you make is that you retain some control and full information about the transfer. And if anything goes wrong you do not have to deal with two separate third parties and possibly try to get them to communicate about it for you.

I think independentreserve.com might allow you to do that. It's Australian regulated but you can register from most countries. They charge $20 for a wire to a US$ account and I doubt they care if it's the same country as you, as long as it's in your name. Can't hurt to ask.

You can use an Electrum wallet

Or you can use a Blockchain wallet.

    Both pretty easy to use.
