We're getting down to the nitty-gritty of what has thus far been a fantastic spectacle, and I expect more fireworks in Monday's Round of 16 matches.

My World Cup best bets today back the USMNT to make the quarterfinals for the first time since 2002, while expecting Spain to get past old foes Portugal in a defensive slugfest. I've also sourced an appealing goal-scoring prop for that fixture.

💰 Best World Cup prediction today

USA to advance (-114) vs. Belgium

I haven't been impressed with Belgium's performances at the World Cup, and I don't think they have the pace or endeavor to keep up with the USMNT.

Mauricio Pochettino has instilled belief in Team USA. That confidence, combined with the lightning-quick team pace at which they play, will be too much for a stagnant Belgium team devoid of ideas and creativity.

Belgium tied two of their three group matches and would have needed penalties in the Round of 32 had it not been for Senegal conceding a penalty deep into extra time. It's the USA's time to reach the quarterfinals for the first time since 2002.

💵 SBR Edge: USA dominance thus far

Excluding the match against Turkiye, where Pochettino rested some key starters, the USA have outscored opponents 8-1.

🔥 More World Cup predictions for Monday

Spain ML and Under 3.5 goals vs. Portugal (+180)

Spain has lived up to their status as one of the two favorites to win the World Cup. La Roja outscored their opponents 8-0 in the previous three matches, while Portugal were lucky to escape Croatia in the Round of 32.

Portugal have, at times, looked disconnected. They aren't nearly as cohesive as Spain, and I don't have as much faith in their offense

Spain were at the peak of their power against Austria, solid at the back and formidable going forward. While I don't expect much offense in this one, Spain should have enough to win without requiring extra time or penalties.

Mikel Oyarzabal anytime goal (+150) vs. Portugal

Mikel Oyarzabal has gone under the radar compared to the big boys of the tournament, but he's been no less impactful. The Spain forward scored two goals against Austria and two against Saudi Arabia, making it four in as many World Cup matches.

He has 13 goals in his previous 12 competitive matches with Spain and was the team's leading scorer in qualifying. He almost scored a goal every two matches in the domestic campaign, too, notching 18 in 40 with Real Sociedad.
