Matchday 9’s Premier League Top Picks
Moneyline: Brentford (+120)
After a tough loss to Arsenal, who were bouncing back from a defeat at the hands of Manchester United, Brentford now get a chance to get back to their winning ways.
Their defeat was just their second this season and the only time they have been held scoreless, as they have netted 15 goals on their way to ninth place in the Premier League. Ivan Toney has scored five goals and two assists with a goals-per-90-minutes rate of 0.71.
On the other end, Bournemouth sit 12th despite winning just one of their last six matches, a 3-2 win over 19th-place Nottingham Forest. Philip Billing is the club’s only multi-goal scorer with two goals. Bournemouth have scored just six goals while conceding 19.
Brentford have the scoring ability to coincide with Bournemouth’s lacklustre defense to give the Bees the edge.
Spread: Manchester City -1.5 (-115)
The Manchester Derby returns with second-place Manchester City taking on fifth-place Manchester United. United are unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches, scoring seven goals and conceding just two.
City have scored a massive 23 goals for while conceding just six all season, with five of those goals coming in a two-match span against Newcastle and Crystal Palace. City have not conceded a goal since Matchweek 6.
While United have made some drastic changes since last season's 4-1 derby defeat to City, City’s attack has only gotten stronger with the addition of Erling Haaland.
Marcus Rashford is coming into form leading United with three goals, but as the team lacks a true attacker, they will have to focus on stopping City who have four players with two goals this season, and midfield maestro Kevin De Bruyne who has tallied six assists and a goal himself to keep United far behind.

Total: Arsenal vs. Tottenham Over 3.5 goals (+182)
Tottenham all but locked up their Champions League position and sent Arsenal to the Europa League in last year’s final North London Derby. However, Arsenal have made the necessary changes to their team since that defeat.
Arsenal have scored 17 goals and sit first in the Premier League.
England’s own Harry Kane leads Tottenham with six goals and Son Heung-min finally broke his scoring drought with a hat trick against Leicester City. Tottenham have scored 18 goals this season.
The last North London Derby hit the Over in a 3-0 decision although Arsenal lacked a true striker. With both teams able to have multiple attackers on the net, the game is set to be another high-scoring affair.
Upset: Fulham (+205)
Fulham’s only two losses this season have come at the hands of Arsenal and Tottenham. They currently sit sixth in the league as Aleksandar Mitrovic rivals Kane with six goals on the season himself and an expected goal rate of 5.0 this season.
Newcastle have multiple threats that can score but have been stagnant, scoring just five goals in their last four matches, only good for three draws and a loss. The Magpies have scored just eight goals this season while conceding seven.
Unless Newcastle can stop Mitrovic, which nobody really can, Fulham have the potential to move even further into the top of the table. While nobody can catch Haaland’s scoring pace, Mitrovic is at the top to keep Fulham far from the relegation zone.
Prop bet: Aubameyang anytime goalscorer (+380)
Former Arsenal captain and prolific striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has returned from Spain after a successful stint at Barcelona and looks to settle much of Chelsea’s woes when it comes to the striker position.
Chelsea are still struggling to find the net, scoring just eight goals this season with summer signing Raheem Sterling responsible for three of them. But no other Chelsea player has more than one goal this season.
Crystal Palace have conceded nine goals this season, sit 16th in the table, and have failed to find a win in their last three league matches. Aubameyang can take advantage of Palace’s down swing to score his first goal in a Chelsea kit.
Parlay: Haaland to score 2 or more and Manchester City ML (+240)
An expected goal rate of 7.4 and a goals-per-90 rate of 1.73 seems like an impossible feat, but that is exactly what Haaland has accomplished for Manchester City this season as he is on pace for a historic scoring season.
Even during the international break, Haaland scored the lone goal for Norway in their two Nations League friendlies, scoring his sixth goal of the 2022 Nations League campaign.
Haaland has scored a hat trick for City twice this season, and will be their top priority in front of the net to beat their rival United, making him the perfect pick for a multi-goal game and a City win.
