One of Sweden or Switzerland will secure it's first Olympic women's hockey hardware in over a decade when they clash for the Bronze Medal today at Milano Santagiulia Ice Hockey Arena. My Sweden vs. Switzerland prediction and best bets expect the Swedes to bounce back from a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of the United States to secure the hardware.

And oddsmakers agree: Sweden is a moneyline betting favorite to beat the Swiss, who looked like potential "Giant Killers" in hanging around in a 2-1 loss to Canada in their semifinal tilt. The action starts at 8:40 a.m. ET (USA Network).

🤑 Best bets for the USA vs. Canada

Are you looking for plays for the gold medal game? Our Dustin Saracini gets you set with his USA vs. Canada predictions and I've added in some USA vs. Canada player props.

💰 Sweden vs. Switzerland best bet: Sweden -1.5 (+140)

Sweden won four straight, outscoring opponents 18-2, before it ran into the immovable, seemingly impenetrable USA in the semifinals. Like its opponent in the bronze medal game, Sweden lost 5-0 to Team USA.

And akin to her team, Sweden goaltender Ebba Svensson Träff enjoyed an almost flawless start to the tournament, securing back-to-back shutouts against Japan and Czechia, making 49 consecutive saves.

While Switzerland's No. 1 Andrea Braendli has been just as good, I have more faith in Sweden's offense. I'd play this bet to +130.

Score prediction: Sweden 3, Switzerland 1

😴 The Fatigue Factor

You have to think it will catch up eventually: Switzerland has allowed over 40 shots in four of its five games, and over 50 twice. Eventually, you have to think the physical and emotional fatigue will catch up, and today against the Swedes might well be that time.

🔥 Best Sweden vs. Switzerland prop bet: Thea Johansson anytime goal (+160)

Johansson leads the team with four goals, tied for the most in the Olympics with American Hannah Bilka.

She is the focal point of a large portion of Sweden's dangerous attacking moves, and I'm looking forward to seeing how she performs against a solid Swiss defense. The other question is whether she can get one past Braendli, who was terrific against Canada. With Johansson's outstanding 25 shooting percentage, I'm banking on it.

💡 How I'm betting Sweden vs. Switzerland

I like the Under, but it's a bet with little value. That's because both teams have excellent defensive records and outstanding goaltenders. And if you select Under 4.5 goals, you run the risk of losing the bet if the game goes to overtime tied at 2. Switzerland's toothless attack is the main reason I'm backing Sweden.

Switzerland hasn't scored more than one goal in any of its games, an astonishing stat considering it has a chance at winning a bronze medal. That's also why I'm unwilling to go with a Switzerland player prop.

🥅 Sweden vs. Switzerland goaltending duel

Excluding games against Canada and Team USA, Sweden and Switzerland have allowed a combined eight goals. Sweden conceded only two, one against Italy and one against Germany.

Svensson Träff has emerged as an absolute wall in net for the Swedes, posting back-to-back shutouts before running into the United States.

Switzerland's Braendli, meanwhile, turned aside 40 saves for a shutout against Finland in the quarterfinal before standing on her head against Canada, making 44 saves on 46 shots.
