Senators vs. Rangers Prediction & Odds: NHL Picks Today (March 23)
Last Updated: March 23, 2026 7:30 AM EDT • 4 minute read X Social Google News Link
The Ottawa Senators' playoff push continues in the Big Apple for a Monday night Prime Video feature presentation, the only game on the NHL docket, as they face the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden (7:30 p.m. ET).
The Senators are the massive -192 betting favorite despite playing on the road. As there's a lack of value in the moneyline play, I'm backing them on the puck line in my Senators vs. Rangers prediction, expecting the sizzling Sens to secure a win by 2 goals or more. I'm also headlining Tim Stutzle while offering a bonus pick.

💰 Senators vs. Rangers prediction & best bet
Senators -1.5 (+125)
The Sens won six of the previous 10 and have pulled to within four points of a wild-card spot, winning six of those games by at least two goals.
The Rangers, meanwhile, lost four in a row, three of which by three goals. With nothing to play for aside from positioning for the forthcoming draft lottery, I don't see things improving for the Blueshirts. The opposite is true of the Sens, whose playoff push will continue in the Big Apple.
A moneyline victory won't yield much value at the best sports betting sites, with the odds (-192) being so short, making the puck line the best play.
Score prediction: Senators 4, Rangers 2
🔥 Best Senators vs. Rangers player prop bet
Tim Stutzle Over 0.5 assists (-110 via bet365)
Uncharacteristically, Stutzle has gone five games without an assist. Doesn't sound like an enticing draw, does it? It's tied for his longest assist drought of the season. The only other time it occurred this season was at the start of November.
Not only is he overdue, but Stutzle has scored in two of the previous three, so he's not exactly ice cold. And his line had a perfect 100% expected goals rate against Toronto on Saturday.
All signs point to a helper, especially as the Blueshirts allowed 19 goals in the last four games.
💡 New York Rangers player prop
Mika Zibanejad has been the Rangers' most threatening forward all season, and he's picked up his play of late, scoring in three straight.
He hit the Over on this total in the last two games and fired 5 shots in each of the previous 2 meetings with Ottawa. Considering his recent fortuitous puck luck, I expect him to be firing will-nilly.
Mika Zibanejad Over 2.5 shots: +122 via FanDuel (1u -> 1.22u)
📊 Live Senators vs. Rangers odds
The Senators opened at -156, which has since moved to between -190 and -192. That's because money has poured in on the Sens to win.
The Rangers are in the midst of a four-game losing streak, and it's back to being dire in the Big Apple after a temporary surge. I don't want to suggest the team is tanking deliberately to improve its chances of a top draft pick, but that's precisely what it seems.
Then again, they've been poor all season, so their current form is by no means surprising.

💡 How I'm betting Senators vs. Rangers
Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.
Everything points to the Sens having their way with the Rangers tonight. Will those be my famous last words? I'm hoping the hockey gods stay out of it and let the Sens' exquisite play of late do the talking.
On the other hand, I'm confident the Rangers' rancid recent play will continue. As I've been doing for the last week, I'm focusing my player props on assists and shots.
And I'm confident enough in Stutzle ending his dry streak to invest a full unit ($10). The same goes for Zibanejad.
