NHL Player Props Today: Best Bets & Goal Scorer Picks for Monday

I'm carrying a 90% success rate from my last 10 goal-scorer picks into tonight's NHL player props and best bets, so I'm feeling about as confident as Alex Ovechkin. 

Speaking of the Great 8, he features again, along with teammate Dylan Strome. I've also put the spotlight on Sam Reinhart and Jack Eichel, both of whom are getting hot.

⬆️ Dylan Strome player prop: Over 0.5 assists (-129) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Strome has at least one assist in six of the previous seven meetings with the Columbus Blue Jackets, including three straight at Capital One Arena. He has four assists in the last three games, posting three in Montreal against the Canadiens when Ovechkin scored a hat trick. 

While he hasn't been quite as consistent as last season, Strome has still managed 15 assists in 20 games. The difference between the odds offered at the best sports betting sites is almost negligible, with Caesars' -129 the best value. A winning $10 bet will profit $7.75. 

⬆️ Jack Eichel player prop: Over 0.5 assists (-140) ⭐⭐⭐

Eichel notched at least one helper in six of the previous nine games, accumulating eight in that sample size. The fact that he's not quite as prolific as he was early in the season presents an opportunity to back him with somewhat palatable odds.

I'm even more drawn to his recent exploits as Eichel has three assists in the previous two games. He also has three assists in the last three meetings with Utah, including one last week. 

The -140 odds at BetMGM represent a 58.33% implied probability. Those short odds make the pick a three-star play, and a winning $10 bet will profit $7.14.

🔥 Alex Ovechkin (+135) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

With at least a goal in five of the previous seven games, Ovechkin is riding a hot hand entering tonight's home contest against the Blue Jackets. He's netted six in the last five games, including three in Montreal on Nov. 20. 

While he didn't score in the last game against the Tampa Bay Lightning, he was dangerous throughout, firing four shots on goal and finishing with 1.1 expected goals. Not only is he sizzling hot, but Ovechkin usually eats the Blue Jackets alive, netting in five straight against them.

🔥 Sam Reinhart (+145) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Reinhart is heating up, netting in four of the previous six games, including in the last two against the Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils. He scored two goals in the first eight games of the season, but has 10 in the 13 since. 

And he has two goals in the previous four meetings with the Nashville Predators, who allow the sixth-most goals per game (3.48) and fifth-most (2.8) per 60 minutes 5-on-5. If he scores for a third straight game, you'll earn $14.50 on a $10 bet at FanDuel.
