🎙️ SBR Intel: Best NHL player props (March 19)

Tage Thompson (+100) leads his team into a matchup with the San Jose Sharks tonight, which should be a shooting gallery between him and Macklin Celebrini (-125) - both are projected to record at least four SOGs. Elsewhere, I'll take Ryan Hartman (-113) to record 1+ points against a shaky Blackhawks defense.

🥅 My best NHL player prop today

Tage Thompson to record 4+ shots vs. Sharks (+100)

Thompson's average SOG remains in the 99th percentile of the NHL. Because he is willing to shoot from almost anywhere in the offensive zone, he doesn't rely on getting to the dirty areas to rack up his shot totals. Against a Sharks team that often concedes the blue line, Thompson should have several clean looks from the high slot. San Jose currently ranks second in the NHL for shots allowed per game (30.4). The shot volume will absolutely be there tonight as part of our NHL player props.

🔥 More NHL player props

Macklin Celebrini 4+ shots vs. Sabres (-125)

The Sabres' defensive style funnels opportunities toward high-volume shooters like Celebrini, who's one of the favorites in the Hart Trophy odds race. The young Canadian has evolved into one of the NHL's premier shot generators, ranking in the 99th percentile for total shots on goal (229), shots on goal per 60 minutes, and offensive zone skating distance, meaning he is constantly hunting for looks. I won't be surprised if Celebrini walks away from this important date with the Sabres with six or seven shots.

Ryan Hartman 1+ points vs. Blackhawks (-113)

Hartman has found his rhythm after being in a slump, recording three points in his last two games - one of those points was a goal against these same Blackhawks. With star center Joel Eriksson Ek currently out, Hartman has been promoted to the top six, often centering the Wild's elite scoring line. Hartman is currently skating alongside Kirill Kaprizov and Mats Zuccarello, significantly inflating his assist potential. 💡 How I'm betting NHL player props

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

Bankroll management is a crucial element for a long-term, successful betting strategy.

The number of units I wagered reflects how confident I am in each player's chances of hitting their respective bet. For my most confident play, I'm fine with exposing 1.5 units of my bankroll (1 unit = $100 for my personal bankroll). It's important to be strategic with your wager sizes. For the most part, I keep these  one unit at the most unless the data suggests otherwise. In this case, Thompson is that exception.
