It’s time for do-or-die hockey in Milano Cortina, and we have a classic European rivalry as the quarterfinals kick off with a rematch between Switzerland and Finland.

Both teams are coming out of a grueling Group A, and while Finland took the preliminary meeting just a few days ago, the Swiss are notorious for playing their best hockey when the stakes are highest. Can the underdog Swiss pull off the upset, or will the Lady Lions roar into the semifinals? Let's find out in my Finland vs. Switzerland predictions.

🏒 Finland vs. Switzerland prediction: Olympic women's hockey

Our expert Olympic hockey picks are based on the latest betting odds at the best sports betting sites.

Bet type Bet Best odds Confidence Units
Puck line Finland -1.5 +110 via FanDuel ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1u
Total Under 4.5 -115 via FanDuel ⭐⭐⭐ 0.5u
Player prop Sanni Vanhanen anytime goal +190 via FanDuel ⭐⭐⭐ 0.3u

💰 Finland vs. Switzerland best bet: Finland -1.5 (+110)

Finland entered this tournament hampered by a virus, but they finally found their legs in a 3-1 victory over these same Swiss on Tuesday. Although Switzerland has the rest advantage, Finland's depth and puck possession are superior. In that preliminary meeting, the Finns outshot Switzerland 31-15, dominating the flow of the game for all 60 minutes.

Expect the Swiss to rely heavily on Andrea Brandli in net and Alina Muller to create magic on the counter-attack, but Finland’s defensive structure - led by the legendary Jenni Hiirikoski - should keep the Swiss chances to a minimum.

Score prediction: Finland 3, Switzerland 1

🏒 Line movement

The line opened with Finland as a heavy favorite at -1.5 (-115), but we’ve seen some slight buy-back on Switzerland. This has pushed the Finland puck line to a much more attractive +110. The value is currently on the Finns.

🔥 Best prop bet: Sanni Vanhanen anytime goal-scorer (+190)

Vanhanen was the X-factor in the first meeting, recording a goal and an assist, and effectively ended the Swiss momentum just as they were clawing back. The Ohio State freshman is playing with immense confidence and has been moved to the top power-play unit. At +190, you're getting great value on the player who currently has the hot hand for Suomi.
