The business end of the women's Olympic hockey tournament is here, and I'm backing Czechia to advance to the semifinals in my Czechia vs. Sweden prediction.

Despite winning just one preliminary round game, Czechia is the -145 moneyline betting favorite. Sweden had a perfect group-stage record but played in a markedly inferior group, which I believe will be a key factor in determining Friday's quarterfinal winner (10:40 a.m. ET, Peacock).

💰 Czechia vs. Sweden best bet: Czechia ML (-145)

Czechia won only one of its four preliminary round games, against beleaguered Finland. However, Czechia played in the palpably more challenging group against juggernauts Canada and Team USA.

Their defeats to Canada and Team USA won't be a disadvantage as they will enter the quarterfinals as the more battle-tested of the two teams. Sweden sauntered to a perfect record, outscoring their weaker opponents 18-2. While they'll be brimming with confidence, I'm concerned by complacency or a potential inability to increase their level on demand.

Score prediction: Czechia 4, Sweden 3

🔥 Best Czechia vs. Sweden prop bet: Natalie Mlynkova anytime goal (+190)

Natalie Mlynkova has been Czechia's most formidable attacking threat through the preliminary round, and I have no doubt she will be buzzing against Sweden. She scored two goals, one against Switzerland in the 4-3 shootout loss and one against Finland.

She has contributed to four of the seven Czech goals. That's the type of heightened influence I can get behind, but I wouldn't play the bet if the odds go below +180.
