Calgary has yet to find its scoring touch, and my Canadiens vs. Flames player props and NHL best bets tonight focus on two key Calgary contributors.

Our NHL picks for tonight’s matchup at Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, with puck drop set for 8:30 p.m. ET (Sportsnet, ESPN+), back Jonathan Huberdeau and Rasmus Andersson to step up for the Flames, who are a +105 betting underdog against the 5-2 Canadiens. On the Montreal side, there's also value on Nick Suzuki as he looks to extend his six-game point streak with another assist.

💰 Best player prop bets for Canadiens vs. Flames

Our NHL player prop odds tool shows the best odds for every market across legal sportsbooks in your area.

⬆️ Rasmus Andersson Over 1.5 shots (-162) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Don’t blame the Flames’ scoring woes on Andersson. The defenseman has been firing pucks on net whenever he can, providing Calgary’s only goal and attempting 10 shots in Monday’s 2-1 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Six of those 10 attempts hit the target, the fourth time in five games that Andersson has recorded multiple shots on goal. He’s also playing heavy minutes for the Flames, seeing at least 25 minutes of ice time in three of Calgary’s seven games so far.

DraftKings’ -162 odds might seem a bit rich, but I still feel the likelihood of Andersson recording more than one shot on net tonight exceeds the 61.83% implied probability. A $10 wager can still return $6.17 in profit.

⬆️ Nick Suzuki Over 0.5 assists (-130) ⭐⭐⭐

Suzuki has had a hand in nearly half of the Canadiens’ goals over their past six games, scoring or assisting on 10 of their last 23 markers. Nine of those 10 points came on helpers, including four primary assists, and his on-ice expected goals has exceeded 67% in five of those six games.

With Suzuki priced as steeply as -265 at DraftKings to earn a point tonight, I’ll isolate his prop to assists. The -130 price suggests a 56.52% chance he sets up a teammate for a goal tonight, returning $7.69 profit on a $10 bet.

🔥 Jonathan Huberdeau anytime goal scorer (+280) ⭐⭐

Despite missing five of Calgary’s first seven games due to injury, Huberdeau already ranks third on the team in expected goals, per MoneyPuck. He scored the Flames’ lone goal in his season debut Saturday against the Vegas Golden Knights, and he attempted eight shots Monday versus the Jets, including four unblocked attempts from high- or medium-danger zones.

If you have access to BetRivers, the +280 price was the best available on Wednesday morning, returning $28 profit on a $10 bet with an implied probability of 26.32%. I’d still place this bet at +250 or better, a number that was available at DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM.

Our Gary Pearson looks to the other bench for an anytime score, backing Cole Caufield to tally a goal in his NHL player props today.
