Falcons vs. Panthers TNF Prop Predictions

Mariota & Walker Under 375.5 passing yards (-105)

Falcons quarterback Marcus Mariota averaged 173.4 passing yards per game over the season's first nine weeks. To reach even half this prop total, he needs to throw for 14 more yards above average. Overall this year, he's eclipsed 187.5 (half of the prop mark) in only four of nine games. He only hit this mark once in his last six matchups. The Atlanta QB threw for 253 yards against the Carolina Panthers two weeks ago.

This prop is set due in large part to Carolina QB P.J. Walker’s biggest game of his career against Atlanta in Week 8. The former XFL standout threw for 317 yards against the Falcons. Outside of that, Walker’s largest yardage output this season was his 177-yard outing against Tampa in Week 7.

What’s more, there's no guarantee he'll last the entire game this Thursday. Last week he was pulled after throwing for just nine yards in the first half against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Falcons win margin 1-6 (+310)

Atlanta won four games this season and all but one fell within this margin of victory. The one outside of this range was an eight-point win against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 6. Two weeks ago, Atlanta beat the Panthers by three points.

The Panthers have dropped seven contests this year. Three of them were inside of this point band. That includes their previous matchup against the Falcons. Carolina entered that game on the heels of an 18-point loss to the Buccaneers. They come into this week’s rematch after a 21-point defeat at Cincinnati.

Four of the nine Thursday night games in 2022 have been decided by less than seven points.

Falcons to score most touchdowns (-165)

Atlanta averages 2.7 touchdowns per game. However, they've found the endzone at least three times in four of their contests. One of those came in their last meeting with the Panthers where Mariota threw for three touchdowns and Falcons linebacker Lorenzo Carter returned an interception for six points. The Falcons surrender an average of 2.9 TDs per game.

Carolina has scored 20 touchdowns this season. They've also reached or exceeded three TDs in four games. However, in three contests this year they registered only one. The Panthers also let teams cross the goal line an average of 2.9 times per game this season.
