The Detroit Lions host the undefeated Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.

When looking at the Seahawks vs. Lions early picks, it’s clear that bettors and oddsmakers expect Detroit to win this game according to the Monday Night Football odds.

But Seattle has had the Detroit's number in recent years. Last season, the Seahawks defeated the Lions 37-31 at Ford Field, and two years ago, they won 48-45.

The Seahawks may be undefeated, but they've benefitted from an easy schedule to start the season. The Lions’ offense has not been nearly as good as many expected.

The spread opened at either 4 or 4.5, depending on which of our best sports betting sites you were using, and early wagers back the Lions to cover.

Because this line is in no-man’s land, there’s no danger of hitting a key number. However, the Lions will likely see the majority of support throughout the week, so the -4 for -108 at DraftKings is probably the best you’ll do.

Lions QB Jared Goff has struggled to start the season, throwing three touchdowns and four interceptions. However, their run game has been superb: David Montgomery and Jahmyr Gibbs are over 200 yards to start the season.

The Seahawks are only allowing 116.3 rushing yards per game, but they haven’t faced an offense with a serious rushing attack. This includes the one-dimensional Miami Dolphins, who were easy to plan for without Tua Tagovailoa.

Seahawks signal-caller Geno Smith could end up over 300 yards passing for the third time in a row against Detroit, but the Lions’ secondary looks significantly better this year than in recent seasons.

Because of that, the Lions will finally end their losing streak against the Seahawks and cover the spread in a game that won’t be nearly as high-scoring as the last two meetings.

Moneyline

These are actually solid prices for both teams. Getting the Lions under -200 is really good, considering they’re at home in primetime. And to get an undefeated underdog for +170 is worth a look.

I believe that the number will continue to get better for the Seahawks while getting worse for the Lions, so if you want to bet the underdog straight up, you can wait until closer to kickoff.

Spread

Three of our best sports betting apps have the spread at -4, while two are at -4.5; 59% of wagers back the Lions to cover the spread, but that support should only grow.

The Seahawks are undefeated, but they’ve beaten the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, and Tua-less Dolphins.

Though they’ve beaten the Lions in Detroit in the last two seasons, bettors will back the more public team in a home game in primetime. Don’t wait if you want to get in on the Lions.

Over/Under

The Over is seeing the early action, getting 67% of wagers, but the number hasn’t moved. Considering the last two matchups between these teams, it’s shocking to see this number so low. Two years ago, the Seahawks won 48-45; last season, they won 37-31 in overtime.

But these are two more defensive-minded teams this season. Neither team has scored more than 26 points in a game, and neither defense has allowed more than 20. Expect this number to rise, and get in on the Under if it reaches 48.5.
