The reigning champions are the Super Bowl odds favorites for several reasons. While they lost a few players on the defensive side of the ball, along with offensive coordinator Kellen Moore, Nick Sirianni's team is built to compete for back-to-back titles.

Missing the playoffs would represent a historically ignominious letdown.

The Kansas City Chiefs probably won't repeat last season's 15-2 record, but envisioning them missing the playoffs is like expecting MVP odds favorite Lamar Jackson to have a poor season. It simply won't happen.

Speaking of Jackson, can you really see his Baltimore Ravens, who are among the Super Bowl odds front-runners, missing the postseason?  That sounds as ridiculous as expecting the New Orleans Saints to win the Lombardi Trophy.

There are no gimmes in betting at our sports betting apps, but this playoff parlay fills me with as much confidence as Saquon Barkley must have entering the 2025-26 season.

I'll take this 50% implied probability every time.

🦁 NFC North Division winner: Detroit Lions ⭐⭐⭐⭐

📊 Best odds: +155 via FanDuel
🔢 Implied probability: 56.52%

I understand why some people are sleeping, even shunning, the Lions. That's an inevitable byproduct of losing the league's best offensive coordinator and one of the elite defensive coordinators.

While those losses won't go unfelt, the Lions won 15 games last season despite dealing with a rash of injuries, the most harmful of which to Defensive Player of the Year odds favorite Aidan Hutchinson.

The term "walking wounded" doesn't do justice to what the team endured, especially in the postseason.

The Lions will need to navigate the third-most difficult strength of schedule, but they have the offensive weapons to do so. They are also exceptional in the perfect environment that Ford Field provides.

There's no doubt the Chicago Bears will be much improved, but I don't feel the same about the Green Bay Packers or Minnesota Vikings. Sure, they'll be good, but I don't expect 14 wins from Minnesota, and 11 victories for the Packers might be a stretch.

To cap things off, the Lions' defense has made strides in training camp. While it's early, that bodes well for another NFC North title.

🐦‍⬛ AFC North Division winner: Baltimore Ravens ⭐⭐⭐

Futures bets with odds as short as a newborn don't sit right. Unless, that is, you're backing the Ravens to win the AFC North. This team is stacked on both sides of the ball. And they are hungry - hungrier than a raven that has gone days without a feed.

The Ravens struggled defensively to start last season, particularly in the secondary. I don't expect the same sluggish opening in that regard.

Also, Jackson had to overcome a serious reshuffling and recalibration of his offensive line at the start of last season. They'll begin the 2025 campaign with the eighth-best offensive line, according to SharpAnalysis.com

Take those considerations and pile them on top of who they're battling: an Aaron Rodgers-led Pittsburgh Steelers and a Cincinnati Bengals team that, even if Trey Hendrickson plays, has one of the worst defenses in the conference. And, of course, the Cleveland Browns. I rest my case.

It's a three-star play merely due to the Danny DeVito-sized short odds. Of our best sportsbooks, FanDuel's -155 represent the best value.

I triggered this pick as part of my best NFL player props. Dak Prescott is healthy, and he knows where the pot of gold rests. Lamb hit the Over on this total in the last three seasons, surpassing it by 44 yards in 2024 despite not having Prescott's services for nine games.

And it wasn't as if he raced out of the starting gates. Lamb's contract dispute (sound familiar, Micah Parsons?) derailed his offseason preparations with teammates. I don't care how elite a player is; nobody escapes those scenarios completely unscathed.

While the Cowboys will attempt to establish a ground game, for reasons of self-preservation, they will almost assuredly be forced to air it out more frequently than a mum trying to prevent her teenagers' hockey equipment from creating its own culture.

George Pickens' arrival should provide slightly more freedom for Lamb, and that will be enough for him to amass at least 1,150 yards for the fourth successive season.

Caesars is the go-to sportsbook for this prop, where a winning $10 bet will yield an $8.70 profit.
