Cowboys vs. Vikings Preview

Kirk Cousins has the Vikings sitting on top of the NFC North with an 8-1 record to the surprise of many. Minnesota has not lost a game since Week 2 against the Philadelphia Eagles. This week they face the 6-3 Dallas Cowboys who are chasing the New York Giants and the Eagles for the top spot in the NFC East. Despite their record, the Vikings are still 1.5-point underdogs.    

Minnesota’s offense ranks eighth in the league in terms of points per game (25.1). They are seventh in average passing yards (248.8) and 23rd in rushing yards per outing (107). Defensively, they are allowing opposing teams to score an average of 21.2 points giving up an average of 381.2 total yards per game.

Dallas is coming off of a tough, overtime loss to the Green Bay Packers last week. They are managing to stay above .500 riding one of the league’s best passing defenses. The Cowboys are allowing just 181.7 yards through the air per game. They are also stingy in giving up points, surrendering 18.2 points on average which is the fifth-best in the league.   

The Cowboys have won the last two meetings between these teams.
