🧠 NFL expert picks to win

McLaren - Bills, Seahawks, Texans, Bears: +1569

We're rolling with cold-weather teams and defense, while fading the injury-ravaged 49ers and backing the best QB left in the playoffs in Josh Allen. I can't see Allen letting Bo Nix beat him after four playoff losses to Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. We're doubling up on Sunday underdogs and counting on the frigid forecast helping the Bears to complete our sweep.

Our Liam Fox covers every game with his NFL weather report.

Cowart - Broncos, Seahawks, Patriots, Rams: +461

The Seahawks and Rams have been the two best teams all season and should have no issue attacking vulnerable defenses this week en route to a seemingly inevitable third matchup next week in the NFC Championship. I love the value on Denver as a home underdog against the battered Bills, while the Texans' offense is a poor match to keep pace with Drake Maye and Co. on Sunday. All of these picks feature in my NFL playoff bracket predictions.

Pearson - Bills, Seahawks, Patriots, Rams: +497

The Seahawks are a wagon on both sides of the ball, and they're well-rested, while the Rams have too much playoff experience to be undone by the cardiac kids. I'm all aboard the Josh Allen bandwagon and expect Drake Maye and his consistently proficient offense to find a way, albeit just, against the Texans.

My NFL QB rankings can help guide your picks this week.

Bisson - Broncos, Seahawks, Texans, Bears: +1469

Teams that lead after one quarter are a sizzling 10-4 SU since the start of the 2024-25 postseason. And these four teams know all about starting hot – or rather, keeping their opponents cold. All four ranked in the top-7 in fewest first-quarter points allowed during the regular season; with scoring expected to be scarce this weekend, that's a trend I can back.

Burke - Broncos, Seahawks, Patriots, Rams: +461

Sean Payton is 4-0 in his career coming off a playoff bye, and the Broncos’ fantastic defense should be able to limit Josh Allen, at least. Drake Maye now has a playoff game under his belt, and those postseason jitters should be gone. I like him to have a smart, efficient game - in which he protects the football - against the Texans’ rugged defense. The 49ers were banged up to begin with, and now George Kittle is gone. The hard-hittin’ Seahawks are the worst possible matchup at this stage of the season. Matthew Stafford threw 46 TD passes in the regular season and three last week against Carolina. I like him to light up the Bears’ woeful D.

Saracini - Bills, Seahawks, Texans, Rams: +844

I learned my lesson betting against Josh Allen in the Wild Card round - he'll put his cape on once more in Denver. The 49ers squeaked out a W against the struggling offense in Philly, but the Seahawks are an entirely different monster. With George Kittle out, they'll have difficulties moving the ball. This Texans defense will be the hardest test of Drake Maye's season - if Stroud can even remotely improve on his game against the Steelers, this one is going to be tight wire-to-wire. I truly believe it's Matt Stafford's year to not only win MVP, but the Super Bowl (again). The Bears, for as good as they've been, are just in the way.

Fox - Broncos, Seahawks, Patriots, Bears: +892

Josh Allen will run out of gas against a rested Broncos defense, while the Seahawks once again expose the banged-up 49ers. Nico Collins likely missing the Divisional Round puts the Texans at a major disadvantage in New England. The freezing Chicago weather will help the Bears put Matthew Stafford and the Rams on ice, as the team that's more used to playing in those conditions.

Scott - Bills, 49ers, Patriots, Bears +3121

The road teams win Saturday, and the home teams even it up on Sunday. The Bills just beat the Jaguars - who had won eight straight to close the regular season - so they have a good shot at winning in Denver. Later in the day, I’m trusting Kyle Shanahan as a big underdog against Sam Darnold. On Sunday, the Patriots should take care of an overvalued Texans side, while Ben Johnson and Caleb Williams take advantage of a weak Rams secondary.

Tomlinson - Bills, Seahawks, Texans, Rams: +844

I’m mostly rolling with daunting defenses here, including the Seahawks and Texans, who sit first and second, respectively, in points allowed per game. The Rams aren’t far behind in that regard either, despite their high-octane offense drawing much of the attention. The Bills are the exception, at least comparatively, but their offense can thrive in cold-weather conditions, especially with the heroics of Josh Allen.

Reid - Broncos, Seahawks, Texans, Rams: +788

I'm putting my faith in the "defense wins championships" mantra this weekend, taking the Broncos (over the injury-ravaged Bills) and Seahawks (over the injury-ravaged 49ers) on Saturday. Sunday, I'm backing the Texans' pass rush to cause problems for Drake Maye, and the Rams to top the Bears in perhaps the only game to turn into a track meet.

Paul - Bills, Seahawks, Patriots, Bears: +955

Home-field advantage matters in the playoffs, especially when it involves the loudest crowd in the NFL (Seattle) or chilly-weather franchises hosting dome teams (New England, Chicago). And it certainly helps that two of those teams have looked like well-oiled machines (Seahawks, Patriots), while the other takes on a Rams squad that showed cracks in the final weeks of the regular season. As for the Broncos' clash with the Bills, Denver has inflated its record with a weak schedule and hasn't played an offense with both an MVP-caliber QB (Josh Allen) and an elite run game.

Blut - Bills, Seahawks, Texans, Bears: +1569

The NFL playoffs are all about defense and having a quality starting quarterback to carry you through the pivotal moments of big games. I am backing the best quarterback remaining in the playoffs, Josh Allen; the healthier and better defensive team in the Seahawks; the better defensive team in the Texans; and the Bears at home to take out the Rams, who were extremely unimpressive in their Wild Card win over the lowly Panthers.
