Cowboys vs. 49ers Odds, Picks, Predictions for the Divisional Round: Will Both Offenses Stay Hot?
The San Francisco 49ers host the Dallas Cowboys at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday to conclude the Divisional Round. Check out our top top NFL picks based on the best NFL odds for the matchup between Big D and San Fran.
The Cowboys beat the Buccaneers for their first road playoff win since the 1992 NFC Championship (they had lost eight straight), which was just their fourth playoff win in the last 25 seasons. Now Dak Prescott is looking to improve his career playoff record to .500 (he is 2-3 entering this week), while head coach Mike McCarthy is now 11-9 in the playoffs.
San Francisco trailed Seattle at the half but outscored the Seahawks 25-6 in the second half to earn its spot in the Divisional Round. The 49ers finished the season 7-0 against its division and brings an 11-game winning streak into this matchup. In addition, San Francisco’s 11 double-digit wins this season are the most of any team.

Cowboys vs. 49ers Odds Analysis
San Francisco opened as a 4-point home favorite and is down to -3.5 at most sportsbooks. The betting action has been back and forth all week, and the 49ers are receiving 59% of spread wagers as of Sunday afternoon, according to our matchup page.
This total hardly changed all week with the opening number of 46 still available through BetMGM and DraftKings Sportsbook on Saturday morning. However, there's been line movement this weekend, and Caesars and PointsBet have the number at 47 as of Sunday afternoon.
Cowboys vs. 49ers Pick
Cowboys vs. 49ers Over 45.5 (-115 via FanDuel) ⭐⭐⭐
Week 7 was a big week for the Cowboys and 49ers, as Dak Prescott returned from a thumb injury and Christian McCaffrey made his debut with his new team. Since that span, the Cowboys have averaged 32.3 points per game and the 49ers have averaged 30.3. According to ESPN Stats & Info, they are the only two teams to average 30-plus in that span.
San Francisco has led the NFL in Offensive Efficiency since Week 8, and Prescott leads the league in passing touchdowns (27) since his return. However, we are backing the Over as a three-star play, as his league-leading 14 interceptions in that span while facing a 49ers team with the best turnover margin (+15) could also mean more points if he sets San Francisco up with short fields.
49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has not seen a pass rush as fierce as Dallas’s in his six starts, as the Cowboys entered last week leading the league in pressure percentage (39%) and ranked second in sack percentage (9%) and Pass Rush Win Rate (52%). However, head coach Kyle Shanahan does a masterful job scheming his receivers open quickly. San Francisco ranks 28th in receptions because of its low-volume passing attack, but the team’s receivers are also first in broken tackles after the catch.
On the other side, Prescott was 9-of-10 passing on throws 10-plus yards downfield against Tampa Bay, with four touchdowns and a perfect 158.3 passer rating. His big-play ability and Tony Pollard’s unique skill set should pose issues for San Francisco’s defense. Pollard has the most yards per touch (6.1) among running backs over the previous two seasons and is the perfect foil for a 49ers defense that is vulnerable to running backs who can stretch them sideline to sideline.
Editor's note: The best odds available for Cowboys-49ers Over 46.5 as of Sunday afternoon are -110 via BetMGM.

Those who will not scoff at laying slightly extra juice (-115 compared to -110) to back the Over would be wisest to head to FanDuel. While all other sportsbooks are at 46, FanDuel provides an extra half-point worth of value, which could come in handy, especially if Dallas’s kicking woes continue after Brett Maher missed four extra points in the last game.
