Cameron Boozer is the favorite by the March Madness MVP odds entering the 2026 NCAA Tournament, and it's pretty hard to argue with the logic: the Duke freshman is the best player on the No. 1 overall seed, and he's on track to post the most impressive offensive season in KenPom history.

The Final Four Most Outstanding Player award (March Madness MVP) has come from the championship-winning team in every tournament since 1983. If Duke cuts down the nets in Indianapolis, Boozer is the obvious choice. But there are some compelling values further down the board - including the top scorer for last year's runner-up at 18/1 and a five-star freshman on a No. 1 seed dealing as a 40/1 long shot.

Here's a look at the latest March Madness MVP odds and my favorite picks to win Final Four Most Outstanding Player honors this year:

🏆 Who will win March Madness MVP?

See all of our March Madness predictions from our college basketball experts.

I'm picking Cameron Boozer to win the 2026 Final Four Most Outstanding Player award. Duke is the No. 1 overall seed with the easiest path to the Final Four in the East Region, and Boozer is the clear alpha on this roster. The MOP hasn't gone to a player on the losing team since Hakeem Olajuwon in 1983, so this is really a two-part bet: Duke wins the title, and Boozer is the best player on the court when that happens.

Prediction Odds (DraftKings) Analysis
Cameron Boozer (Duke) to win MOP +360 Boozer is the best player on the best team with the easiest path to the Final Four; MOP hasn't gone to a losing team since 1983
Kingston Flemings (Houston) to win MOP +1800 I have Houston going to the Final Four, and Flemings is the clear go-to threat for the Cougars.
Joshua Jefferson (Iowa State) to win MOP +2200 I love Iowa State's path to the Final Four, and Jefferson is a superstar talent waiting to blossom.
Koa Peat (Arizona) to win MOP +4000 Arizona is loaded with NBA talent, but the five-star freshman has a legit path to winning this award at a long-shot price.

Year Player School Seed
2025 Walter Clayton Jr. Florida 1
2024 Tristen Newton UConn 1
2023 Adama Sanogo UConn 4
2022 Ochai Agbaji Kansas 1
2021 Jared Butler Baylor 1
2020 Cancelled (COVID-19) N/A N/A
2019 Kyle Guy Virginia 1
2018 Donte DiVincenzo Villanova 1
2017 Joel Berry II North Carolina 1
2016 Ryan Arcidiacono Villanova 2

The MOP has come from the championship-winning team in every tournament since 1983, when Houston's Hakeem Olajuwon won it on the losing side. In the last 10 tournaments (excluding 2020), nine of 10 MOP winners played for a No. 1 or No. 2 seed. The takeaway for bettors: pick the champion first, then figure out which player on that roster is most likely to go off in the Final Four.

❓ 2026 March Madness MVP odds FAQ

Follow all of our college basketball analysis and expert predictions for March Madness.

Who is the favorite to win March Madness MVP in 2026?

Duke star Cameron Boozer (+360) is the favorite to win the 2026 Final Four Most Outstanding Player award at DraftKings. Boozer is the best player on the No. 1 overall seed and a projected top pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

What is the March Madness MVP award?

The Final Four Most Outstanding Player (MOP) is voted on by credentialed media members after the national championship game. It recognizes the best performer across the entire Final Four (not just the title game), though the winner almost always comes from the championship team. The award is commonly referred to as the March Madness MVP.

Does the March Madness MVP always come from the winning team?

Almost always. The MOP has come from the championship-winning team in every tournament since 1983. Only 12 players in tournament history have won the award while playing for the losing team, with the last being Houston's Hakeem Olajuwon.

Who won March Madness MVP last year?

Florida guard Walter Clayton Jr. won the 2025 Final Four Most Outstanding Player award. Clayton scored 30 points against Texas Tech in the Elite Eight and 34 points in the Final Four against Auburn, and he finished with 11 points, seven assists, and five rebounds (and a critical defensive stop late) in the championship game win over Houston.

How are March Madness MVP odds set?

MOP odds are essentially a derivative of championship futures. Since the winner almost always comes from the title team, sportsbooks start with which teams are most likely to win it all, then price individual players based on usage, scoring volume, and star power within that roster.

When is the March Madness MVP announced?

The Final Four Most Outstanding Player is announced immediately after the national championship game. Media members vote during the title game, and the award is presented on the court during the trophy ceremony.
