At this point, it’s fair to wonder whether the Suns care that they’re still mathematically alive in the race for the final play-in spot. Durant has missed the last three games and will remain out for a fourth. Devin Booker sounds like he’s more focused on next year in post-game interviews. Most importantly, the Suns have dropped six in a row.

A look at recent games reveals a lot about the Suns. Over their six-game losing streak, the Suns rank dead last in net rating (-21.5). Through their previous three without Durant, they’re somehow 26th (-13.7). Meanwhile, the Warriors rank fifth in net rating over the last six (+13.1) and 14th over the last three (+3.4).

Zooming out, Golden State (+8.9) ranks third in net rating since the All-Star break, while Phoenix ranks 22nd (-4.5). This matchup isn’t close, especially with how much Golden State has to lose, and while both teams have another game tomorrow, it’s impossible to trust Phoenix to cover the spread, even with 8.5 points.

Due to the large disparity between these teams, I’m higher than the market is on Golden State, and I predict the Warriors will beat the Suns by a final score of Warriors 116, Suns 104.

🏀 Best Bradley Beal prop pick: Under 17.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Best odds: -110 via BetMGM ($10 to win $9.09)

We faded Beal as a scorer on Sunday, and he treated us to 16 points, a half-point below his total, after getting shut out in the first half. While he did find some momentum down the stretch, that doesn’t warrant the books jacking his total up by another full point ahead of tonight’s game.

For one, Golden State’s defense shuts down opposing guards. Over the last 15 games, the Warriors rank second in points allowed to both shooting guards (19.8) and point guards (20.8). Beal spends 85% of his minutes rotating between those positions, so it’s fair to call this an unfavorable matchup for him.

For another, Beal has been terrible this season, especially since the All-Star break. Since the pause, Beal is averaging only 15.9 points per game on splits of 50/32/75. While he is averaging 18.9 per game on the year without Durant, Beal has just 17 total points across the two games without him this month.

Best odds: -105 via ESPN BET ($10 to win $9.52)

Is there a hotter shooter in the NBA right now? Over his last three games, Podziemski is averaging 24.3 points per game on splits of 57/59/100. While that production is absolutely unsustainable, it doesn’t need to be for him to go over 14.5 points. Let’s hope that he can stay hot in a great matchup tonight.

Podziemski is averaging a steady 15.7 points per game since the All-Star break, 3.2 of which have come in the fast break, and 2.7 of which have come off opponent turnovers. That’s big for this matchup against Phoenix, as the Suns have allowed the fourth-most fast-break points per game (18) and the third-most points off turnovers (19.8) over this sample.

While there is serious blowout risk with any over on tonight’s slate, especially since both the Warriors and Suns are back in action again tomorrow, Podziemski’s total is set to a low enough number for me not to worry about that this evening. Back him for a big game as a scorer.

Best odds: +105 via DraftKings ($10 to win $10.50)

Since the All-Star break, the Warriors have forced the most turnovers per game (17.5) while the Suns have forced the fewest (11.3). While I would generally consider playing Booker’s Over for turnovers due to the matchup, the fact that we could see some weird rotations due to the late-season nature of this game, especially with both sides in action again tomorrow, pushes me in another direction.

Instead, let’s get Green not to turn the ball over often. He could get some much-needed rest ahead of tomorrow’s game versus the San Antonio Spurs, is averaging 2.7 turnovers per game since the break, and averages only 2.4 turnovers in wins. With the Warriors trading as comfortable favorites, I love this under in this matchup.
