Steph Curry has been out of action for over a month due to patellofemoral pain syndrome. This injury is also known as “runner’s knee.” Below, we will look at when Curry will be back and return to the court for the Warriors. We will also look at Curry’s fantasy basketball stock and Warriors betting odds.

🔙 When will Steph Curry return and be back on the court?

Patellofemoral pain syndrome is quite common among athletes. Symptoms include pain in the front of the knee, sometimes accompanied by clicking and/or instability. It is typically due to overuse.

Recovery from patellofemoral pain syndrome varies. It can take anywhere from six weeks to a full year to recover from. Curry last played on Jan. 30, so he has been out for five weeks thus far.

Curry’s injury does not seem severe, as the Warriors were initially expecting him to be back right after the NBA All-Star break. The star veteran reportedly had a setback during All-Star weekend, however, and he has been shut down from court work for 10 days. He will be re-evaluted on or around March 11.

The earliest date in which we could see Curry back is Friday, March 13 which is a Warriors home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. It is likely, though, that Curry will need a “ramp-up” period before making his return. Golden State goes on a six-game road trip following the Timberwolves game. Teams typically like to ease returning players back into the fold in a home game, but the schedule probably doesn’t jive with Curry’s timeline in this circumstance. Golden State’s next home game after the Minnesota game will be Wednesday, March 25 against the Nets.

Here is a look at the Warriors’ upcoming schedule and games in which Curry could potentially return.

  • Friday, March 13: Timberwolves at Warriors
  • Sunday, March 15: Warriors at Knicks
  • Monday, March 16: Warriors at Wizards
  • Wednesday, March 18: Warriors at Celtics
  • Friday, March 20: Warriors at Pistons
  • Saturday, March 21: Warriors at Hawks
  • Monday, March 23: Warriors at Mavericks
  • Wednesday, March 25: Nets at Warriors

🏀 Steph Curry fantasy basketball stock

Curry's injury situation is being closely monitored by fantasy basketball owners as his return will likely coincide with the start of most fantasy playoffs. The 37-year-old guard was taken in the second round of most fantasy drafts this past fall.

Curry has not shown too many signs of a dropoff despite his age. He is averaging 27.2 points per game, which is a slightly higher average than he produced in his last two seasons. The only numbers that are noticeably down are his assist numbers, as he is averaging 4.8 dimes per game. That would be a career-low average if he were to finish his season with that number.
