Heat vs. Celtics Player Props & Odds: Wednesday's NBA Playoff Prop Bets

After a blowout loss in Game 1, can the Miami Heat's top players overcome the odds in Boston against the Celtics in Game 2?

Miami hits the road Tuesday to face Boston after a blowout loss in Game 1, as we offer our best Heat vs. Celtics player props and expert picks for Game 2 based on the best NBA odds.

After their epic battle in the 2023 Eastern Conference Finals, the Boston Celtics (64-18) smacked the Miami Heat (46-36) in a 114-94 victory in Game 1. They're favored by 14.5 points at our best sports betting sites to score another big win in Game 2, which tips off at 7 p.m. ET (TNT) from TD Garden in Boston, Mass..

Boston remains the consensus favorite to win the NBA championship after a strong start to the 2024 NBA playoffs. Conversely, Miami faces an uphill climb to win this series (or anything beyond it) with star scorer Jimmy Butler still sidelined with a knee injury.

In addition to our Pelicans-Thunder player props and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander player props, here are our best Heat vs. Celtics player props and NBA picks (odds via our best NBA betting sites; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Heat vs. Celtics prop bet predictions for Wednesday

Jaime Jaquez Jr. Over 23.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

There's no replacing Butler for Miami, but Jaquez has done his best impression of the Heat's top scorer since he went down with injury last Wednesday.

In two starts in Butler's place, the 6-6 forward has combined for 37 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, and he's shot 50% on 16 attempts in both contests. This isn't new for Jaquez, who is averaging 18 points with 5.2 assists and 4.6 rebounds over his last five games.

Clearly, the rookie has taken it upon himself to fill the void left by Butler. While FanDuel offers a slightly lower total (22.5) at -125 odds, these -109 odds from Caesars carry a 52.15% implied probability with a $19.17 payout on a $10 wager, per our odds converter. That's the better value in my eyes.

Best odds: -109 via Caesars

Kristaps Porzingis Over 2.5 made 3-pointers ⭐⭐⭐⭐

As beneficial as Porzingis was for the Celtics in the regular season, they traded for the 7-2 sharpshooter with the postseason in mind. And we're already seeing the early returns.

The big man drilled four triples in Game 1 on eight attempts - both were his most in a game since March 18. That came even with Bam Adebayo, one of the NBA's best defenders, serving as his primary defender on 31.1 partial possessions in Game 1.

Instead, Porzingis fired away on the likes of Nikola Jovic (2-for-2), Jaquez (1-for-1), and Delon Wright (1-for-1), none of whom are equipped to handle Porzingis off switches. This feels crazy value for a similar performance, as these +120 odds imply just a 45.45% chance of hitting while paying out $22 on a $10 wager.

Caleb Martin Under 7.5 points ⭐⭐⭐

In last year's series against the Celtics, it felt like Martin had been possessed as he averaged 19.3 points on 60.2% shooting in the Eastern Conference Finals. This year, he's been a ghost all season long - and especially in Game 1.

Martin scored four points on just six attempts, including 0-for-4 from deep, in Sunday's blowout loss. That marked his third consecutive game scoring fewer than eight points and his eighth such game in his last 12 tries.

Perhaps he'll come alive in Game 2, but I'd rather bet against that with these juicy +100 odds from bet365, which carry a 50% implied hit rate and would turn a $10 bet into a total payout of $20.

Best odds: +100 via bet365
