Luka Doncic is back tonight for the Los Angeles Lakers as they host the Los Angeles Clippers. With Doncic suiting up, there are several opportunities to capitalize in the betting markets. I'll be focusing on a LeBron James prop specifically.

LeBron James Under 5.5 rebounds (-106)

While James is questionable tonight, the spread moved only one point after the Lakers downgraded his status, which suggests optimism about his chances of playing. Doncic returning tonight changes the dynamic for James. He has recorded five or fewer rebounds in six straight games while playing alongside Doncic.

Although the Clippers are on the second night of a back-to-back, they shouldn’t be tired, as Thursday’s game was in Inglewood, Calif. FanDuel lists this prop at -106, but I would play it up to -130.

Bennedict Mathurin Over 17.5 points (-114)

Mathurin is practically the No. 2 option on the Clippers now - and the No. 1 option when Kawhi Leonard sits. He scored 38 points on 22 shot attempts on Thursday, and the Clippers’ game plan should look similar tonight.

Mathurin tied Derrick Jones Jr. with a team-high 34 minutes played and attempted the most field goals for the Clippers. With Leonard playing on the second night of a back-to-back, expect Mathurin to get a similar number of looks tonight. The best widely available odds are -114 at DraftKings, but this bet is playable up to -125.

💡 How I'm betting Clippers vs. Lakers

My bankroll strategy is to treat one unit as 1 percent of the money I’ve set aside exclusively for sports betting.

I risked 2.12 units on James’ rebounding prop, as I’m confident the market is mispricing his line. If larger edges were available, I would consider risking up to 2.5 units per bet. I allocated 3.26 units for this game to capitalize on James’ mispriced prop while still capturing some value with Mathurin’s scoring line.

This parlay offers solid value because Mathurin subbed in for Leonard on Thursday, though they shared the floor at times during the game. The more productive Mathurin is tonight, the more likely Leonard will play fewer minutes on the second night of a back-to-back.

Kris Dunn and Mathurin were the primary perimeter players grabbing rebounds for the Clippers on Thursday, so it will be tough for Leonard to reach seven or more boards if he’s either on the bench or competing with Mathurin.

It makes sense that bettors are fading Rui Hachimura with Doncic returning and Austin Reaves coming off his minutes restriction. However, with James questionable tonight, I would be cautious about playing an Under on Hachimura.

Jarace Walker Under 21.5 points (-130) is a solid bet, even though the Pacers’ top four scorers are injured. While Walker has scored 19 and 23 points over his last two games, it’s not profitable in the long term to blindly bet players’ Overs when their role expands - the number has to be low enough.
