If we assume Joel Embiid is healthy to start the season, this line is too low. He scored 14 points in 19 minutes during his lone preseason game and averaged more than 30 points per game in three of his previous four campaigns.
The 76ers may be careful with him, but they need him to win their opener without Paul George. He’s also got a favorable matchup after the Celtics lost their top three centers from last year’s team, entering this season with a combination of Neemias Queta and Luka Garza.

Jaylen Brown gets his chance to be the leading man of the Celtics this year. He will get plenty of shots up, which is why he’s an intriguing long-shot candidate to lead the NBA in scoring.
Even without that in mind, this scoring prop seems low based on Brown’s scoring average of 22.2 points on 17.7 field goal attempts last year. He averaged as much as 26.6 points on 20.6 shots per game in 2022-23.
I expect the market to eventually catch up to Brown’s high-usage role. This would be a five-star play at ESPN BET (+100 on the Over), but I’ll use a FanDuel promo code to grab the -122 offering for a profit of $8.20 on a $10 wager if the former isn't available in your market.

Payton Pritchard figures to step into the starting rotation after winning the Sixth Man of the Year award last year. That means his numbers will improve after averaging 14.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game last season.
Still, I struggle to reach this number when he is at best the third option. During the preseason, Pritchard finished with 43 points, 12 rebounds, and 15 assists in 81 minutes. I like this Under at 26.5 or better, as FanDuel is one of two shops yet to drop this line to 25.5.
