The best WNBA matchup of the weekend will take place first thing Saturday afternoon when the Indiana Fever host the Dallas Wings at 1 p.m. ET (ABC) at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
In addition to having two of the most popular players in the league, Paige Bueckers' Wings and Caitlin Clark's Fever are hoping to level up as WNBA championship odds contenders in 2026. Indiana is a 5.5-point betting favorite, but the total (177.5) tells the real story as I make my Wings vs. Fever prediction ahead of this much-anticipated showdown.

🏆 Who will win Wings vs. Fever?
Indiana has had a strong home-court advantage in the past two seasons, going 23-19 inside Gainbridge Fieldhouse. In the end, I think that will matter against a young Wings team in Saturday's opener. I'm projecting a six-point win for the Fever.

The expectation is that there will be a lot of points when these two teams face off, but I see more paths to an Under on the highest total of opening weekend.
For one, there might be an element of rust in the season opener. The Wings have a new coach and multiple new starters. The signings of Alanna Smith and Jessica Sheppard should improve their defense, as both players were part of the Minnesota Lynx's No. 1-ranked unit last year.
The Fever had to play most of their games without Caitlin Clark last year, so there could be an adjustment to the reintroduction of someone as ball-dominant in this system. These two teams combined for 175 points in the preseason meeting, but I'm counting on a bit more defense today.

Maddy Siegrist Over 4.5 rebounds (+112)
Maddy Siegrist is projected to start in the frontcourt alongside Smith, who was the big get for the Wings in free agency. While much of the attention is on Smith after her co-Defensive Player of the Year campaign, I think Siegrist's props are a bit underrated.
Siegrist demonstrated her ability in both preseason games, clearing this rebound line twice. She finished with 11 rebounds in 29 minutes against the Fever before following that up with five boards in 21 minutes against the Aces.
This Over is -105 at some shops, so I like getting a +112 value at FanDuel.

It doesn't feel comfortable to take an Under in a Wings vs. Fever matchup, but I think that's where the value is on Saturday. It should still be an uptempo matchup, meaning Siegrist will have opportunities to rebound any misses. A parlay of the Under and the Over on her rebound line is +244 at FanDuel.
