Storm vs. Sky Prediction, Odds & WNBA Best Bets: Aug. 19

The Storm have lost seven of their last eight, but can they use a showdown with the Sky to get back into the win column?

A pair of reeling teams clash on Tuesday when Chicago (8-25) hosts Seattle (17-18), and our Storm vs. Sky odds and prediction set the scene.

Tipoff is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET (WNBA League Pass) from Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The best sports betting sites list the visitors as 11.5-point betting favorites in this get-right spot, with a spread set at O/U 155.5 points.

The Storm are still clinging to their No. 8 spot in the WNBA championship odds playoff picture, but they have dropped seven of the past eight games. Chicago is also 1-7 over its last eight, which includes seven games without Angel Reese. My Storm vs. Sky best bets fade Brittney Sykes in this tough spot.

Although Seattle has struggled of late, this is a chance for the team to take care of business against an inferior squad. That’s exactly what happened when these two teams faced off on July 24, as the Storm rolled to a 95-57 victory as 11.5-point favorites.

You got this, Seattle.

As mentioned above, the Storm covered this same spread by a comfortable margin in the last head-to-head meeting. Reese, who has been out since late July, missed that game. I think that matchup is a good example of how there are levels to the bottom of the league.

The Sky haven’t really been in games of late, failing to cover the spread in nine of their past 10 games. Since Reese has been sidelined, Chicago ranks last in the league with a net rating of -17.8. The next-closest team is the Dallas Wings, who have a net rating of -9.9.

The Storm, meanwhile, have a -3.7 net rating over that same stretch. They have been on the wrong side of a lot of close games, with seven of their past eight games being decided by four points or fewer.

I expect Seattle to roll on Tuesday.

⬇️ Brittney Sykes Under 21.5 points + rebounds + assists ⭐⭐⭐⭐

📊 Best odds: Best odds: -114 via FanDuel ($10 to win $8.77)

Seattle guard Brittney Sykes has only cleared this PRA combo line in two of her five games since being traded from the Washington Mystics. Those were the first two contests as a member of the Storm, which included a 27-point effort.

Sykes has settled into a reduced role since her move, averaging 16 PRA over the past three outings, which bodes well for her finishing Under this line in a potential blowout.
