The Los Angeles Sparks (17-18) host the Phoenix Mercury (22-14) in a pivotal matchup with playoff implications, and I break it all down with my Mercury vs. Sparks prediction. Tipoff is at 10 p.m. ET on Tuesday at Crypto.com Arena (NBA TV).

Los Angeles trails by one game for the final spot in the WNBA championship odds playoff picture. Phoenix is a 4.5-point favorite and clinging to the No. 4 seed, which would give it home-court advantage in the first round.

My WNBA prediction expects both teams to deliver, so I’m backing the Over on Tuesday.

The Sparks have become used to entertaining matchups. Games involving L.A. are 24-10-1 to the Over this year, including a ridiculous 14-3 clip in the last 17 contests. Since July 5, Los Angeles has led the league in offensive rating while ranking 12th in defensive rating.

The Mercury haven’t faced the Sparks during this recent stretch, but these two have scored a combined 340 points in their previous two head-to-head matchups. I’m counting on a slight bump in offensive production in the third meeting, which is why there is value on this Over at 175 or better.
