With both teams coming off a loss, Thursday’s matchup between the Minnesota Lynx (28-6) and Atlanta Dream (22-13) could have some higher stakes as we explore what to expect with our Lynx vs. Dream prediction. Tuesday's 10-point defeat to the New York Liberty marked Minnesota’s sixth regular-season loss of the year. In the previous five occasions, the Lynx are 5-0 in their next game with an average margin of victory of 11.2 points.

I don’t know if Napheesa Collier will return on Thursday after being out more than two weeks with an ankle injury, but this is typically a spot where the Lynx have thrived this year.

Considering we need Minnesota to win at this price, I will back the best team in the league as a four-star play. The Lynx are 20-13-1 against the spread in regular-season games this year.

The Lynx will indeed begin to lack motivation during these final weeks, as they are 6.5 games up on anyone else for the No. 1 seed. However, I don’t see that being a problem in this one after Minnesota lost on Tuesday and dropped its previous head-to-head matchup with Atlanta.

Collier’s potential return would be just icing on the cake. But I don’t necessarily need it to back the Lynx as 1-point favorites at our best sports betting apps.
