The Liberty continue to look shaky, and are just 10-11 since their 9-0 start to the season. That inconsistent play includes dropping their last game against the Sparks, 101-99, a game in which Breanna Stewart exited just three minutes in.
The former MVP hasn't returned to the court since sustaining a knee injury and won't be suiting up for New York tonight. With Stewart still out and the Liberty's sporadic play over the last two months, I'm projecting a 94-92 win for Los Angeles as part of my Liberty vs. Sparks predictions.

The Sparks are trending in the opposite direction of the Liberty. After acquiring Plum in the offseason from the Las Vegas Aces and starting the season with a dismal 6-14 record, Los Angeles has been one of the best teams in the WNBA since mid-July, winning nine of its last 11 games. That stretch includes the Sparks covering the spread in eight of their last 10, and going 5-1 ATS as an underdog.
Plum now has L.A. sitting third in the league in points per game (85.9) and fourth in offensive rating (107.8), behind a high-speed attack that's No. 2 in pace rating (78.7). Since the beginning of July, the Sparks are averaging 90.9 points per game with Plum, Dearica Hamby, Rickea Jackson, and Azura Stevens all averaging double digit points.
That foursome should be able to expose a New York defense that's sunk to No. 7 in points allowed per game (80.9) and No. 8 in 3-pointers allowed per game (8.4). The Sparks perimeter game could be the key to them covering again, with L.A. shooting the second-highest 3-point percentage in the league this season (35.6%).

Plum remains one of the most lethal offensive weapons in the WNBA in her eighth season as a pro. The four-time All-Star is fourth in the WNBA in points per game (19.8) and third in assists per game (6.1) while ranking sixth in offensive win shares (3.4).
With the Sparks winning streak, Plum has been on a tear and has gone Over 25.5 points and assists in six of her last eight games, including a 20-point, eight-assist performance against the Liberty. I'd play the Over on the Washington product's points and assists line up to 26.5.
