The Las Vegas Aces (21-14) will put their seven-game win streak to the test when they host one of the top WNBA championship odds contenders in the Atlanta Dream (22-12) at 10 p.m. ET (NBA TV) on Tuesday at Michelob ULTRA Arena.

The Aces are 2-point favorites to extend their win streak to eight in a row, but there is an argument that this is their toughest test yet. That’s why I’m backing an underdog Atlanta squad for my Dream vs. Aces prediction.

For as good as the Aces have been recently, the Dream have been better. The advanced metrics favor Atlanta during this recent run by Las Vegas, which I’ll get into more later. Plus, the Dream have been better throughout the year.

Simply put, I’ll take the plus-money odds on the better team.

Let’s start by giving credit to the Aces. They are 9-1 since removing Jewell Loyd from the starting lineup, a decision that has provided balance to the rotation and potentially saved the Aces’ season.

Despite that, the Dream have been just as good (if not better) over the same stretch. Atlanta ranks second in the league with a net rating of plus-16.8 this month, which is well above Las Vegas’ clip of plus-3.1.

The Dream are 8-2 over their last 10 games, with both losses coming by two points. Considering I expect Atlanta to win outright, I love the idea of getting +2.5, especially when BetMGM stands alone among the best sports betting apps with that bargain spread.

Despite Brittney Griner’s recent return to action, Hillmon has remained in Atlanta’s starting lineup. The Sixth Player of the Year favorite is averaging 11 points per game as a starter, which is three points higher than her average as a reserve.
