Phil Mickelson won't defend his 2021 title at Southern Hills Country Club this week, but golf bettors will be searching for another longshot PGA Championship winner. We offer up our favorite PGA Championship longshot picks below.
Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, OK, hosts this week's PGA Championship. The second PGA Tour major of 2022 features another strong field including Tiger Woods, but missing defending champion Phil Mickelson. Mickelson withdrew from the field late last week.
The odds have been tightened at the top of the board across our top-rated U.S. sportsbooks. But excellent value exists just a little further down. The PGA Championship regularly produces longshots, including Mickelson at odds of around +15000 last year at Kiawah Island.
We've made our top 2022 PGA Championship picks and below, we'll look at our favorite longshot bets for the year's second major.

Longshot Targets for the PGA Championship
Ancer (+11000)
Abraham Ancer opened at around +5000 to win the PGA Championship, and even that seemed a little inflated. While slipping from No. 17 to 21 in the Official World Golf Ranking through the first five-plus months of 2022, his odds at DraftKings have gotten out of control.
Ancer has two international top-10 finishes this year, with a T-8 at the Saudi International and a T-5 at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. He missed the cut at the Masters, but his best major finish to date was a T-8 at last year's PGA Championship. His iron play hasn't been as sharp as we're used to seeing, but he's still gaining strokes off the tee. He's also 46th in bogey avoidance and tied for 38th on Tour in par 4 efficiency: 450-500 yards.
Our other top sportsbooks are all offering odds of +8000 for Ancer to win. Take the value offered by DraftKings.
Varner (+12000)
Harold Varner III still doesn't have a PGA Tour win to his name, but he has been victorious on three other professional tours, including a win at the Asian Tour's Saudi International on Feb. 6. There, he defeated a field that included PGA Tour regulars Bubba Watson, Cameron Smith, Joaquin Niemann, Dustin Johnson, and Ancer.
Varner has been excellent this season with his irons, short game, and putting. He's 45th on Tour with 0.715 strokes gained: total per round. He's also 38th in bogey avoidance, T-42 in sand save percentage, T-19 in par 3 efficiency: 200-225 yards, and T-65 in par 4 efficiency: 450-500 yards.

Leishman (+18000)
Marc Leishman had a disappointing T-51 finish at last week's AT&T Byron Nelson, that even included an ace in his final round. The poor finish pushed his odds to win the PGA Championship even higher, and they're now difficult to ignore — even though the six-time PGA Tour winner remains without a major championship to his name.
Leishman is gaining strokes per round in all key statistical areas this season. That includes 0.81 SG: tee-to-green and 0.55 SG: approach. He's 32nd on Tour in bogey avoidance, 89th in sand save percentage, and T-45 in par 4 efficiency: 450-500 yards.
Horsfield (+25000)
Sam Horsfield won last week's Soudal Open to vault to a career-best No. 64 in the OWGR. That was his third career win on the DP World Tour, and first since winning twice in 2020.

In the wake of the victory, his odds to win the PGA Championship dropped as low as +15000 at DraftKings. BetMGM and PointsBet are offering the best remaining value of +25000.
