Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever travel to face the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday's ESPN headliner, as we offer our best Fever vs. Mercury prediction and expert picks based on the best WNBA odds.

After shaking off a slow start to the season, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (7-12) have started to find a rhythm as we wrap the second month of the WNBA season. They'll have a national audience Sunday when they travel to Footprint Center to face the Phoenix Mercury (9-8) at 3 p.m. ET on ESPN.

The Mercury are 7-point favorites to beat the Fever across our best sportsbooks, and they're one of just five teams trading at shorter than 100/1 in the latest WNBA championship odds after winning six of their first nine games in June.

The Fever are right behind them in the title market - albeit at more than triple the price - after a 6-2 start to the month, though two straight losses have oddsmakers skeptical about another win on Sunday.

Fever vs. Mercury predictions for Sunday

Mercury -7 ⭐⭐⭐

It wasn't long ago that the Fever looked like the worst team in the WNBA after losing eight of their first nine games. Then they ripped off a string of wins - most recently against the Atlanta Dream - to climb out of the bottom tier of the W.

Still, this isn't a great team. All six of Indiana's wins this month have come against opponents that currently own a losing record, and only one came by double digits. Conversely, the Mercury haven't lost to a team with a losing record this month, boasting a 3-0 record with those wins coming by an average of 14 points.

If Phoenix's shots aren't falling, this team is definitely vulnerable to an upset, hence the three-star endorsement. If they are falling? I don't see the Fever having enough firepower (or defensive might) to avoid a lopsided margin on the road.

Kahleah Copper Over 21.5 points ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Copper isn't the most well-known player on a team with Diana Taurasi and Brittney Griner. But she's quietly been the best player for the Mercury all season long.

If it weren't for A'ja Wilson's historic season, we might be talking more about a potential MVP season for Copper, who ranks third in scoring (22.7 PPG) and leads the league in usage rate (33.3%). Her 24-point game against the Los Angeles Sparks on Friday marked her fourth time clearing this total in her last seven starts.

That could serve as a preview of her showing Sunday against the Fever, who rank dead last in defensive rating (109.5) by a fair margin. With Copper's point total trading at 22.5 across the rest of our best sports betting apps, this feels like a nice value at even cheaper -105 odds to boot.

Caitlin Clark player props vs. Mercury

Caitlin Clark Over 3.5 threes ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Anyone who's followed my WNBA picks this season - and especially for Fever games - knows that one of my favorite props to target is the Under on Clark's made threes. Yet this value is too good to pass up.

Typically, our best live betting sites offer a total of 2.5 for Clark, but she's made them pay with 12 triples over her last three games. That comes amid public pressure from coach Christie Sides for her rookie star to shoot more, which should be music to the ears of Over bettors.

You can still bet Over 2.5 at -140 via bet365, but I'm buying these plus-money odds on a big game against the Mercury, who allow the most 3-point makes (10) and attempts (27.9) on a per-game basis. If Clark wants to shoot, she'll have the green light and some real estate to fire away on Sunday.

Caitlin Clark Over 5.5 rebounds ⭐⭐⭐

I have a stronger lean on the prop bet above, but if sportsbooks are going to deal this total at relatively flat odds, I'll gladly oblige.

Clark has been a streaky rebounder this season, going long stretches with an emphasis on the glass and other times without such a focus. She's clearly in a rebounding mindset of late, grabbing six or more boards in four of her last five games.

The Mercury have been a below-average rebounding team this season with a clear mission to get back in transition and cede defensive rebounds. That's great news for Clark and her chances of cashing this bet at -115 odds, which would return a $8.70 profit on a winning $10 wager per our odds converter.
