Red Sox vs. Yankees Player Prop Predictions, Odds: Expert Picks for Friday

The Yankees look to snap their losing streak in an AL East showdown with the Red Sox in what could be an explosive game for Aaron Judge.

The sky appears to be falling in the Big Apple with the New York Yankees (54-35) hoping to end a three-game losing streak against the Boston Red Sox (47-39), as we look at the best Yankees vs. Red Sox player props.

The two AL East rivals are set to take to the field at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Friday at 7:05 p.m. ET (NESN), and New York is a -140 moneyline favorite despite being in the middle of a 4-13 stretch.

Even with the recent struggles, the Yankees remain one of the favorites by the World Series odds behind the dominant play of Aaron Judge, who sits atop the MLB MVP odds in the AL.

Red Sox vs. Yankees expert picks

Rafael Devers 2+ total bases ⭐⭐⭐

Between the play of Jarren Duran and Devers, Boston is 14-5 since mid-June with two wins against the Yanks. It's helped the Red Sox climb the AL standings to sit in the third Wild Card spot.

To catch up to the Yankees in the top Wild Card spot, they'll need Devers to keep delivering. The two-time All-Star is coming off an impressive June in which he slashed .300/.359/.656 with 59 total bases in 24 games. He's also kept up that hot play in July, adding six total bases in three games.

With Devers averaging 2.4 bases per game since June, I expect him to thrive against Nestor Cortes. Cortes leans heavily on his four-seamer - 46.6% of the time - and Devers is cranking them with a .616 SLG, per Baseball Savant. A $10 bet on this prop pays $25 for a $15 profit.

Gleyber Torres Under 1.5 hits + runs + RBIs ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Without a doubt, there's no one Yankee who's to blame for the Pinstripes issues, but Gleyber Torres has fallen flat all season. The two-time All-Star is slashing just .221/.295/.343 and isn't showing any signs of turning it around after hitting .218 last month and going 1-for-11 to start July.

Torres is averaging 1.6 hits + runs + RBIs per game this season and has just two in his last three outings, including zero in back-to-back games. Now, he's facing Tanner Houck, a MLB Cy Young odds contender.

Houck has allowed two earned runs or fewer in 12 of 17 starts and uses his slider 41.8% of the time - Torres is batting just .172 with a .259 SLG against them this season. That's why these odds are so short at bet365, but they still pay an $8 profit on a $10 winning bet.

Aaron Judge Over 1.5 total bases ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Call me crazy, but I'm going to back Judge against Boston. Sure, he just went hitless in back-to-back games against the Cincinnati Reds, but he's as short as -350 at Caesars to win AL MVP for a reason.

It's not as if he's in some ridiculous slump either,  as he opened July with a three-hit game and a dinger against the Reds. That was after slashing .409/.514/.864 in June and putting up 89 total bases in May. Since the start of May, he's averaging three total bases per game.

Between his last two stinkers and Boston putting Houck on the mound, these are the best odds for Judge going over 1.5 total bases in weeks. They pay a $9.01 profit on a $10 bet. And for as good as Houck is, Judge has a .833 or better SLG against three of his four pitches.
