It took a while for Spencer Strider (1-5, 4.36 ERA) to find his groove after missing nearly all of last season, but it's hard to say he isn't "back" after striking out 13 batters through six scoreless frames in his last start against the Colorado Rockies.

The Mets' bats pose a different threat, though Chris Sale sliced through New York's lineup a day ago in 8 2/3 shutout innings with seven strikeouts. Strider boasts an even better swinging strike rate (15.3%) and zone contact rate (81.4%) than his teammate, and he appears to be rounding into form.

With the way Clay Holmes (7-3, 2.87 ERA) has been dealing in his first season with the Mets, Under 8.5 is a strong play at +100 odds. But I feel even better about laying the outlier -130 odds via BetMGM on an outright Braves victory.
