⚾ Marlins vs. Dodgers Prediction & Picks: MLB Odds for Monday, April 27
Last Updated: April 27, 2026 5:07 PM EDT • 4 minute read X Social Google News Link
A tantalizing pitching mismatch means plenty of balls could be taking flight on Monday night, with the seats of Dodger Stadium perhaps as a final destination.
That's key to my Marlins vs. Dodgers prediction, with the mighty home side set to thrive in a Chris Paddack vs. Yoshinobu Yamamoto matchup.
Paddack was among the league leaders in home runs allowed last season, and he's started this campaign in a similar fashion. He'll be on the mound tonight beginning at 10:10 p.m. ET (ESPN), with the Dodgers entering as -300 favorites.

🏆 Who will win Marlins vs. Dodgers?
Yes, some key offensive pieces are still missing for the Dodgers, most notably Mookie Betts and possibly also still Will Smith and Max Muncy tonight. But they still boast ample depth to pounce on Paddack, who's giving up an abundance of loud contact.
Score prediction: Dodgers 7, Marlins 3
💰 Marlins vs. Dodgers prediction & best bet
Over 8.5 (-105)
Betting an Over with Yamamoto on the hill means it's a matchup in which the Dodgers can do much of the lifting. And yes, that's exactly what we get here with the Marlins trotting out the liftoff-prone Paddack.
The righty was tied for the fourth-most homers allowed in MLB last year (31), and he's given up five already this season. He's getting walloped repeatedly, resulting in a hard-hit rate that sits in just the 15th percentile, according to Baseball Savant. Worse, opposing batters are hitting .333 off his four-seamer.
📡 SBR Edge: Frequent liftoffs
Paddack's HR/9 sits at 1.9, showing he hasn't changed much yet from his homer-happy ways last year when he finished at 1.8.
🔥 Best Marlins vs. Dodgers player prop bet
Yoshinobu Yamamoto Under 6.5 strikeouts (-136)
Yamamoto is off to a sterling start in many ways, and most notably allowing two runs or fewer in all but one of his five starts thus far. He's done that as usual through a lethal splitter, which comes with a minuscule .121 batting average against.
He also boasts pinpoint command, with a 4.1% walk rate that sits among the top 5% leaguewide. But despite that brilliance and his nearly untouchable movement, the hurler's strikeouts remain perplexingly down.
His K/9 is at 7.7, well below the league average this year of 8.6. That comes after he sat at 10.4 last year. He'll no doubt regress positively soon, but that journey won't begin tonight. The Marlins come with many offensive flaws, but striking out isn't one. They're tied for the fourth-fewest strikeouts leaguewide.
💣 Marlins vs. Dodgers home run prediction
Kyle Tucker to hit a home run (+490)
I went with another mashing Dodgers lefty, Freddie Freeman, in my best home run predictions today. But Kyle Tucker has fit that description in the past, too.
He's off to a slow start now, but there have been recent signs of an awakening, with a double in three of his last four games. More importantly against Paddack, even amid his early-season scuffling there's still an ability to capitalize on a mediocre fastball. Tucker is slugging .526 against heaters, with a 46.9% hard-hit rate.
A home game is always a boost for Dodgers hitters too, with Dodger Stadium ranked as the most homer-friendly venue, according to Statcast's Ballpark Factors.
🚀 Marlins vs. Dodgers same-game parlay
Let's lean on Tucker to play his part in the Dodgers jumping all over Paddock, with the strikeout Under for Yamamoto also lining up well with more potential traffic on the base paths.

💡 How I'm betting Marlins vs. Dodgers: MLB strategy
Follow all of our MLB analysis and expert predictions for baseball season.
I feel comfortable going to a full unit on both the game total Over and Yamamoto's strikeout Under because of the matchup advantages. The Dodgers' offense is ideally suited to take advantage of the many opportunities Paddack will provide powerful hitters, and the Marlins' strikeout avoidance is high.
📊 Live Marlins vs. Dodgers odds
The Dodgers are unsurprisingly getting much of the attention, with 90% of the moneyline bets and 94% of the run-line wagers on Los Angeles, via DraftKings.
Bettors aren't quite as confident when it comes to the total, but the Over is still generating 65% of the action. It's safe to stay with that wager at 8.5, but a move to 9 ahead of first pitch would give me pause.
Similarly, I would stay away if Yamamoto's strikeout total falls, though that feels unlikely.
