🏒 Golden Knights vs. Mammoth Prediction & Odds: Game 4 NHL Picks Today (April 27)

It's an absolute critical Game 4 tonight as Utah can jump out to 3-1 series lead over Vegas, and I think that might be exactly what happens

The Utah Mammoth can grab a solid 3-1 series lead tonight when they host the Vegas Golden Knights tonight at Delta Center in Salt Lake City. Oddsmakers expect a close one, with Vegas listed as a -115 betting favorite and Utah lined at -105 on the comeback. Puck drop is set for 9:30 p.m. ET, airing on ESPN.

My Golden Knights vs. Mammoth prediction expects the hosts get the job done, putting Vegas in a hole that not many saw coming. I'm also going to dig out my favorite player prop and build an SGP that we can sweat out as the night winds down.

💰 Pick ⚖️ Bet size (units) 🧠 Why I bet this
Mammoth moneyline (-102 via FanDuel) 0.5u → 0.49u Better goaltending will lead the Mammoth to the home victory
Under 6 (-120 via bet365) 0.5u → 0.42u That same better goaltending will help the Under hit
Dylan Guenther to record 4+ shots on goal (-115 via bet365) 0.75u → 0.65u Stepping up from his gaudy regular-season production; 3/3 hit rate in the series
Dylan Guenther anytime goal scorer (+165 via bet365) 0.25 -> 0.41u Fresh off a 40-goal regular season; two already in the series

🏆 Who will win Golden Knights vs. Mammoth?

Utah's young core, led by Logan Cooley and Dylan Guenther, has been a driving force through the first three games of the series, and really, through the entire season.

But the real deal breaker here falls largely on the goaltending situation: Utah's Karel Vejmelka has outplayed Vegas' Carter Hart in a big way so far in the postseason. After finishing up the regular season with a 6-0 run while logging a 1.66 GAA and .930 SV%, the Vegas crease-keeper has been shaky through the postseason, logging a 3.11 goals against and, more concerningly, an .892 SV%.

Score prediction: Mammoth 3, Vegas 2

💰 Golden Knights vs. Mammoth prediction & best bet

Under 6 (-120)

Look, I like the Mammoth tonight, but what they did last game isn't sustainable: Utah scored four goals on 12 shots. Vegas had just two on 32, but with Vejmelka's form, I think that's more in line with what we can expect.

I don't see Vegas limiting Utah as severely tonight, but they shouldn't score at 33% clip anyway. Even with limiting Utah last time, the Golden Knights probably make defensive adjustments to limit high-danger chances and get in shooting lanes. A 3-1 or 3-2 game is my guess, but I'm looking to block the ENG with the flat 6.

🔥 Best Golden Knights vs. Mammoth player prop bet

Dylan Guenther to record 4+ shots on goal (-115)

We need a little step up from Guenther's regular-season shot total (3.06 shots per game) for this one to hit, but so far that's what we've seen in the playoffs. And it's hardly unusual for a player of his caliber to be getting extra ice time and taking extra chances in the playoffs.

He's an important part of the Utah offensive engine, logging 40 goals in 79 regular-season games. He's logged four, five, and four shots through the first three games, and he's potted two goals. Also, notable that one of those four shot performances came in a game where the Mammoth logged just 12 total shots. He's also seeing an extra minute of ice time per game vs. the regular season.

Expect the team to lean on the young right-winger as it looks to jump out to a 3-1 series lead. I'm going to follow it up with a small play on his anytime goal scorer prop, too.

Our Gary Pearson is all over Guenther as well in his best NHL player props today piece.

🚀 Golden Knights vs. Mammoth same-game parlay

We're going to mix this one up a little bit from our above bets, moving from the moneyline to a secondary player prop option. at bet365, where I get some of the best sportsbook promos, I'm going to stick with the flat 6 on the total and rolling with the Guenther shot prop from above, but we're going to round it out with a shot prop from a Golden Knight.

It's been bombs away for blueliner Pavel Dorofeyev, so we're going to look for him to have 2+ SOG tonight. That brings us to +310 on our parlay, and we'll stick with that modest number.

💵 Golden Knights vs. Mammoth SGP picks

  • Under 6
  • Dylan Guenther 4+ shots on goal
  • Pavel Dorofeyev 2+ shots on goal

Best odds: +310 via bet365 (0.25u -> 0.78u)

💡 How I'm betting Golden Knights vs. Mammoth

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

If you're read this far into any of my NHL playoff articles, congrats, you already know what this section is going to say!

The best sports betting sites are incredibly efficient at this time of year, it's hard to find markets to attack that haven't long been adjusted to. With that in mind, consistency in bankroll management is key, and I'm rolling with my standard two units for the game. I've chosen to split a unit between the moneyline and total, with neither carrying significantly more confidence on my side. I'm backing the Guenther shots on goals with three-quarters of a unit and throwing the additional quarter-unit on him sneaking in a third of the series.

📊 Live Golden Knights vs. Mammoth odds: Game 4

Stop me if you've heard this one before: the best sports betting sites have this pretty well under control at this time of year, and at this point in a series. This line hasn't moved by more than five cents at any of the major operators since it opened, and at this point, it's highly unlikely to do so.
