The San Francisco Giants (41-33) are looking to snap a four-game losing streak, which includes dropping the first two games of their series against the Cleveland Guardians (37-35). They'll try to avoid a sweep today, and our Guardians vs. Giants prediction examines why San Francisco will likely need to prevail in a low-scoring affair.

Despite their recent issues, the Giants are still the -180 favorite based on the best MLB odds ahead of first pitch at 4:05 p.m. ET from Oracle Park in San Francisco.

My Guardians vs Giants best bet: Logan Webb Over 5.5 strikeouts (-136 via FanDuel)

Similar to what we pounced on in our MLB home run predictions today, we're getting a quality number here from FanDuel. The gap isn't quite as significant, but Caesars is sitting down at -155 for Giants ace Logan Webb to record at least six strikeouts.

The price from Caesars - which implies a 60.78% probability, compared to FanDuel at 57.63% - is more in line with what Webb has done lately, as he's cleared 5.5 strikeouts in three of his past four outings. That run includes skyrocketing past this total too, as Webb notched 10 punchouts recently against the Atlanta Braves and Detroit Tigers.

Webb, who has finished among the top six in Cy Young voting the past two seasons, has significantly increased his K/9 this campaign while adding a new element to his dominance. It sits at a career high 10, far above his 7.6 last year.

The Guardians are middle-of-the-pack in team strikeouts. However, they trot out four regulars with a strikeout percentage sitting at 25% or higher.
