🤑 Best NRFI Bets Today for Thursday (June 25)

After going 2-2 over the last couple of days, we're targeting large sample sizes for Cubs vs. Mets and Yankees vs. Red Sox on this fine Thursday to get the job done. The formula continues to work for us this season, so let's bring those units home with our best NRFI bets today.

šŸ’° Best NRFI bets today (Thursday, June 25)

Cubs vs. Mets NRFI (-135) - 7:10 p.m. ET

  • Matthew Boyd (6.00 ERA) vs. Freddy Peralta (4.83 ERA)
  • NRFI records: Cubs (48-32) vs. Mets (40-40)

Between these two starters, we're seeing close to 400 plate appearances against them in this specific matchup - a sample size we truly love to see. With the Mets owning just a .254 xBA against Boyd, and with Juan Soto just 1-for-10 against him in his career, we're feeling fairly confident the Cubs righty can get us three simple outs. On the other side, the Cubs have 252 plate appearances against Peralta, and own just a .178 xBA against the Mets ace. That's good enough for me - I'd price this play closer to -150.

Yankees vs. Red Sox NRFI (-145) - 7:10 p.m. ET

  • Cam Schlittler (1.71 ERA) vs. Connelly Early (3.64 ERA)
  • NRFI records: Yankees (41-38) vs. Red Sox (41-37)

Here's a case of two young pitchers with strong enough sample sizes that I feel extremely confident in backing them as part of our best NRFI bets today. Schlittler has 65 plate appearances logged against him from the Red Sox, and he's limiting them to a .202 xBA and .244 xwOBA while striking the Boston lineup out at a 28% rate. We will absolutely take that to the bank. Early has done just as well against the Yankees, too, owning a 25% whiff rate - it helps that Ben Rice is 0-for-4 with four strikeouts against him in his career. Let's fire this bad boy up.

šŸ’” How I'm betting NRFI picks today (June 24)

Follow all of our MLB analysis and expert predictions for baseball season.

An NRFI (No Run First Inning) bet carries high variance, meaning success requires a disciplined, daily dive into the data. Before placing a wager, run through a strict checklist: analyze how the starting pitcher matches up against the top three hitters in the lineup, track underlying metrics like strikeout rates (K%) and expected batting averages (xBA), and review recent team-specific first-inning scoring trends. Because a single mistake or lucky hit can ruin the bet instantly, always use this daily routine to guide your wagers and scale your unit sizing accordingly to protect your bankroll.
