If the Heisman Trophy were handed out in September, Colorado two-way superstar Travis Hunter would have as good of a case as anyone to win the award.

Hunter has logged over 500 total snaps for a 3-1 Buffaloes team. He has 472 yards and five touchdowns on 37 catches while recording 14 tackles and two takeaways on the other end.

Simply put, Hunter’s +1800 Heisman Trophy odds price tag does not reflect his overall impact.

Travis Hunter touchdown pick vs. UCF

Hunter didn’t score in last week’s overtime win against Baylor, and now Colorado is a two-touchdown underdog against UCF. But it’s silly to see a -105 price on the Buffs’ best player to find the end zone.

Hunter has five touchdowns in four games, matching his total from last year. The Buffaloes clearly want to feed him the rock, as evidenced by Hunter pacing the team with 44 targets. No other player has more than 29 targets in Colorado’s passing attack.

The anytime touchdown market can be fluid, but this -105 price at BetMGM is a bargain. Hunter’s touchdown odds are as long as -150, and at this price a $10 winning bet pays a $9.52 profit.

If Hunter will have no problem scoring this weekend, it makes too much sense to take a +500 flier on him recording multiple touchdowns.

So far this season, that has been the case.

Hunter scored three times against North Dakota State in the season opener and recorded two touchdowns against Colorado State. That’s a 50% hit rate for those keeping score at home.

Hunter is too dynamic of a player to get a 5/1 price tag for scoring multiple times. A $10 bet nets a $50 profit if he delivers a pair of touchdowns.

As mentioned in my Colorado vs. UCF player prop bets, betting on one big play from Hunter is arguably the best way to have action on the superstar.

The Buffs are a big-play offense, and Hunter is often the biggest beneficiary of that approach. He has cleared this mark in two games, including a 46-yard catch against Baylor last week. He had a catch of 29-plus yards in six of his nine outings last season.

Since it opened, this line has dropped from 29.5 to 28.5 at our college football betting sites, but I believe that’s a mistake.
