Two teams whose 2023 championship aspirations were unceremoniously dashed will meet at the Orange Bowl on Dec. 30 when the Clemson Tigers match up against the Tennessee Volunteers. Read on for our top Orange Bowl college football odds for the Tennessee-Clemson matchup.

Most teams would give anything to end their season with an Orange Bowl appearance – but you could probably forgive both Clemson and Tennessee for seeing their Dec. 30 encounter as a disappointing finish.

The Tigers suffered rough losses to Notre Dame and South Carolina to fall out of title contention. Tennessee's national championship aspirations fell by the wayside with a 27-13 loss to Georgia in early November, and the Volunteers also fell to the surging Gamecocks.

Tennessee vs. Clemson Spread

The most common number at most sportsbooks is Clemson -6, though FanDuel has Clemson -5.5 and BetMGM inexplicably lists Clemson at -4.5.

The Tigers had a disappointing season by their lofty standards, evidenced further by their mediocre 7-6 ATS record. They opened with non-covers in three of their first four games, and both of their outright losses came as favorites (including a -14 line for that SC defeat).

Tennessee, meanwhile, might feel let down after sputtering in the wake of its triumphant win over Alabama in mid-October, but it still had a sensational year from a betting perspective. the Vols went 9-3 ATS, with their only non-covers coming against Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.

Tennessee vs. Clemson Over/Under

The Orange Bowl total of 63.5 is virtually unanimous, though DraftKings has a 63 listed.

Clemson posted a 7-6 O/U record, with no real pattern of results with regard to totals. The Tigers saw just one number north of 60 all season – and they finished well under that total, prevailing 39-10 over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Dec. 3.

Tennessee, on the other hand, saw more than its share of sky-high totals, with 11 of its games coming in with a line of 62 or higher. The Volunteers went 7-5 O/U for the season, thanks largely to their top-ranked offense producing 40-plus points in eight of 12 games.
