One of the oldest rivalries in college football, Ole Miss heads to Death Valley to take on LSU in the Magnolia Bowl.

  • Our Ole Miss vs. LSU prediction expects the Rebels to exploit an inconsistent Tigers defense
  • The winner will get a huge boost to their College Football Playoff odds
  • Both Jaxson Dart and Garrett Nussmeier are Heisman Trophy odds contenders, which is why this game total is so high (64)

In one of the top matchups of our Week 7 college football predictions, we're all in on Lane Kiffin's program.

What have the Tigers proven?

The Tigers are the 13th-ranked team in the country, but they lost to the best team they played, and they only won by three in their second-toughest matchup of the year.

The offense has put up a lot of points, but is it really all that impressive to score 42 against the Nicholls Colonels? Plus, the defense has been problematic, even against bad offenses.

They’re allowing just 21.6 points per game, but they’ve allowed 21 points to Nicholls, 33 to South Carolina, and 17 to UCLA. Each of those teams went over their season average by at least a field goal.

Rebels have all the advantages

Offensively, the Rebels are averaging 37.6 points per game. That’s 18th in the nation. They’ve scored at least 27 points in four of their five games.

While their loss to Kentucky was concerning, they rebounded nicely by dominating South Carolina.

Defensively, they’ve allowed more than 10 points just twice this season, and no team has scored more than 20 against them. The Tigers may become the first to do so, but it will only be because they’re trying to catch the Rebels.

Jaxson Dart Over 284.5 passing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Tigers are allowing 258.8 passing yards per game. That ranks 100th in the country. Jaxson Dart has already thrown for 2,100 yards, an average of 350 yards per game. Against the SEC competition, he has yet to throw for 300 yards, but he has still hit at least 261 in each of those games.

With all of that said, this total makes no sense. The total is up to 291.5 at bet365 and Caesars.

If they were offering better prices, I’d be more than happy to take that Over. However, they’re offering the same price as FanDuel for over 284.5. Therefore, it’s obvious where to play. Get in as soon as possible. This is going to get close to 300 before kickoff.

My Ole Miss vs. LSU player prop bets double down on Dart while offering complementary prop picks.
